one of the things that howard university and howard university hospital has identified was that we have a large population of at-risk drinkers, substance abuse patients, and that we wanted to find a way to try to really help our population. we didn't have enough social workers or frontline people to do it. so what we had done was put together a proposal to train our residents. and samhsa was very helpful in that and provided us with a grant to train our residents and our staff about screening, brief intervention, and referral for treatment. so when a patient comes in on whatever service... they may not have come in for an alcohol or substance abuse problem, but the results of the discussion may have been screening that patient just to see, is this person at risk? and once you have done that, you really go through a process of educating the residents and staff about how you can have open-ended questions, affirmative listening, reflective listening, that really allows a person to open up and tell you what is going on. now we know physicians and health care personnel are very busy, so the

howard university. investigators say 20-year-old keenan lee was shot and killed around 10:00 saturday night right in front of howard university hospital. the shooting coming just hours after home coming events wrapped up at the school. police say the victim was not a student nor affiliated with the hospital. the university did send out e- mail and text notifications to the community members warning them to be on alert. >>> another big story this morning. the lululemon murder trial begins today. brittany norwood is accused of killing her coworker and then staging the crime scene. stacy cohan has more. >> reporter: good morning. this is the first day of what is expected to be a very high profile murder trial. the trial of 21-year-old brittany norwood, charged with killing her coworker, 30-year- old jayna murray and because of the incredible amount of interest and the amount of media coverage that this case has garnered, it may make it tricky to select a jury. it was a crime that shocked the community development women found tied up inside the lululemon yoga store last march. one of them, 30-year-old jayna murray, was already dead when police arrived. the other, 21-year-old brittany norwood told investigators they had been section isually abused by two men who killed murray that. story unraveled and norwood now goes on trial facing a charge of first degree murder in murray's death. >> we had a conversation with jayna and she was helping us at the store. and it was really unbelievable like someone that you talked to a month ago is now dead so i was shocked. rotor store was closed for several weeks after the murder and completely renovated before it reopened. even so, it will be hard for people to forget what happened. >> it was really scary just to be in bethesda so top of mind for everyone around here. >> reporter: prosecutors say they have plenty of forensic evidence against norwood who they believe killed murray after she found stolen merchandise in norwood's bag. investigators say some of the strongest evidence may be recording of her repeatedly changing her studioy possibly to cover her tracks. many said they plan to follow the trial to try to make sense of tall. >> it is a horrendous crime, coworkers. should have been some type of intervention. i doubt if it was just an instant kind of impulsive act. >> it is like my age, you know, and it is just so frequently and weird and i think i've been reading about it in the paper but i am curious to see what is going on with it. >> reporter: others say they just want to see justice served. >> especially since this is just such a heinous crime, i want to make sure that justice was brought to jayna and her family. >> reporter: they are beginning with a jury pool of about 300 people in an effort to find 12 jurors and a number of alternates. the process begins first thing this morning. reporting live in rockville, i'm he stacy cohan. back to you. >> thank you. >>> still developing details in the disafter ther in turkey where rescue cues continue to dig through rubble after a massive earthquake killed more than 200 people. they are still hoping to find dozens of survivors still trapped after the powerful 7.2 quake. in one city alone, 80 buildings collapsed. near the iranian border, hundreds more mud brick homes and concrete borders tumbled down. the walls collapsed at one prison treeing more than 150 inmates. more than 50 returned to the prison saying they just wanted to check on their family. >>> the united states is warning of an imminent threat of a terror aincome a-- attack in kenya. there was a grenade attack at a kenyan bar this morning but police say that incident does not appear to be orchestrated by al-shabab. >> libya has been liberated. that is the official word from the country's new leaders. there is a new prime minister mom ising eex ex-- promising elections for a new constitutional government. it was clouded with questions about the death of moammar ghadafi. revolutionary fighters say he was not shot in the head when they first found him last week. >>> more than 100 protestors led away in handcuffs. coming up, details of what went down at the one of the occupy demonstrations. >>> squabbles break out in another protest camp. why some are now threatening to leave. stay with us. we'll talk about it coming up. degrees. 51 here. 51 in annapolis. 49 at quantico. dulles airport, 47 degrees. 44 up in baltimore so a cool start to the day. satellite-radar composite for the region, we'll show you some clouds. clouds in over us. officially skies at reagan national are being reported as mostly cloudy. a little bit of a break out there. we'll get some partial sunshine later on and this is a cold front or a front. we'll just call it a front. not really going to drop our temperatures this much. that mechanics its way through here late today and as you can see, there are rain showers associated with it. so by the time it gets through here late in the day into the evening could trigger some showers for us as well. so the forecast for today looks like this. a lot of clouds but some sunshine here and there. could be a few late-day showers whether that front comes through. we are looking for a high today of about 69 degrees and that is actually above normal. a few degree above normal. for tonight, mostly cloudy skies, a few showers still possible. the overnight lows in the 40s for the entire region. five-day forecast, tomorrow, we don't really see a break in the temperatures. 68degrees under mostly sunny skies. then 71 on wednesday. we get another frontal system coming through here. that will bring some rain with. it maybe a rainy day on thursday. then by friday, that is your high temperature in the mid-50s on friday. we think we'll do the same on saturday as well. now, let's get an update on this morning's rush hour traffic from lauren demarco. >> i'm not complaining. 69, late freeway airport. watch that. it is off to the side of roadway. let's take a look at 95 past lorton road. things are looking much better here. we had an earlier wreck near route 1 woodbridge in the southbound direction. that is gone. northbound 95, no problems for you out of fredericksburg up through woodbridge towards springfield. 395 looks good from the beltway across the 14th street bridge heading into d.c. not really seeing any delays at this point. nothing to report on the beltway in virginia or in maryland. nice, easy trip across the american legion bridge in both directions. 270 running well out of frederick toward the beltway as is 66 heading through manassas all the way in past route 50 toward the beltway. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. >>> the paper bark
