[laughter] what do you think? you saw all the candidates pylon to marco.hat did it tell you? >> clearly, it was a rough night for marco rubio. in part because it plays into a media narrative. it produced all these apocalyptic headlines. some of this commentary comes from the same pundit. how well it is doing after the third-place finish in iowa. i think that there is an overreaction. voters do not debate the same way that journalists do. the thing that rubio kept repeating, president obama was intentionally ruining the company. trish: who do you think came out most ahead? who may have won over a few more voters here in new hampshire as a result? >> chris christie did not hurt himself. he is down in single digit land. the guy we have not been talking about very much lately, donald trump. still has a big lead. trying to act more presidential. more serious. the press will then go into a press analysis mode. i think if he does win it, it put him back on track. trish: any thoughts on that? what do you call it -- >> announcing that candidates. other candidates w

howie kurtz is next on why this isn't going away and what it could mean for the campaign. >>> feud betweend senator ted cruz is ramping up again. today marks a week since the bickering began over who's to blame for the suggestion during the iowa caucuses that dr. ben carson was dropping out. just this weekend, senator cruz defended the campaign again. >> on monday night about 6:30 p.m. cnn reported that ben was not going from iowa to new hampshire or south carolina. rather he was, quote, take a break from campaigning. cnn reported on that. they didn't correct that story until 9:15 that night. i apologized to him then and i do so now. >> cnn issued a statement after the debate suggesting senator cruz's remarks, quote, categorically false. and on it goes. howard kurtz, so, does it boil down to cnn sent out a corrective tweet saying he's still in the race but didn't report it on the air i guess until a significant time after or at least that's cruz's defense. >> cnn didn't really have to correct anything. the initial report said in a highly unusual move ben carson going off the trail. >> led

howie kurtz is host of media buzz. good to see you both. guy, let me start with you. you are a voice for conservatives across this country, and chris christie put his position behind donald trump tonight. an important endorsement, no? >> definitely. and i think this was a master stroke by the trump campaign. just brilliant. for two reasons. first, they managed to convince a once popular governor to take his credibility and his reputation that he's built over his adult lifetime and apply it to try to confer some credibility upon donald trump, a man, who as you just pointed out, criticized sharply on a number of fronts during his own failed presidential campaign. but more importantly, from a conservative perspective, this is the trump campaign turning the page away from last night's debate, at which donald trump was habitually and repeatedly exposed and humiliated by ted cruz and marco rubio, two sharp, young conservatives with vastly superior knowledge on virtually every issue that came up. so i think that was this morning a realization donald trump waking up saying wo
