. >> and i'm sinty hsu su -- and i'm cindy hsu. >>> janelle burrell has more live from brownsville. >> reporter: well, cindy and mary, had her death is now a murder investigation. nearly a month after she died, a funeral home director bruises all over her body, prompting police to reopen her case. police thought the 82-year-old had died naturally in her sixth floor apartment here in brownsville early last month. her body discovered by a home health aide alone on her kitchen floor. it was a closed case for investigators, a doctor signing off on had her death certificate that she had died of complications from hypertension and diabetes. but this past weekend, a twist as employees of the funeral home began preparing her body for funeral. they found stab wounds and broken ribs. the medical examiner overturning the cause of death now declaring it a homicide saying it's cause of death is stab wounds of the neck and head. >> i say what. >> reporter: neighbors stunned to hear someone would have wanted to harm the elderly woman who livered alone. police and padlocked as they work to determine
