scientist political science professor christine degreer and conservative radio talk show host and hugh hewitt and liberal radio talk show host joe madison. let me go to you christina. the border crossing site where we're seeing hundreds that ran past the mexican border guards and police, but have been stopped at so far the u.s. border. as we hear the president saying maybe 48 hours ago we're approaching a deal to hold asylum seekers in mexico, what does this mean, if anything, to what the president's saying mexico's denying and how does this raise the issue of immigration and border crossing? >> unfortunately the issue has not been dealt with by either party in a substantive fashion at all. we have a president who will openly lie, right, just in the middle of one conversation. he'll tell about six different lies. so we don't know where his actual intentions -- his actual conversations have been with the mexican government, but what we do know when this president declared this presidency and said that mexicans were rapist. we do know he thinks latinos are a scourge on our economy, country and

i want to bring msnbc host of the hugh hewitt show.e with me again, jonathan capehart and josh barro as well. if republicans wake up tomorrow morning and they've lost the house and they have managed to hold on to a majority in the senate, who will they have to blame? >> well, i think they'll be relieved if that's what it is. they don't want to lose the senate, obviously, craig. this is a very different election, with 36 million votes already cast. i mean, it's on its way to 105 million, which is about 20 million more than 2014, about 30 million less than last presidential election, and i'm having a difficult time modeling what's going on out there. if we wake up and the house has gone blue but the senate remains red and in fact, picks up north dakota, indiana, tennessee where the early voting in indiana and tennessee is very much favored republicans, just like in montana, and if they hang on in arizona where they have an 8% lead . >> the president and essentially begged him to stay on message and to talk about the roaring economy, the

bring in former national press secretary for the democratic congressional campaign committee and hugh hewitt, an msnbc political analyst. thank you both. as the day unfolds before the results start to come in, what are you watching for specifically there in mississippi? >> well, i'm looking at a couple different numbers. one, the percentage of the electorate that is african-american. on november 6th there was about 33%. they need to boost that a little bit. there's also the non- -- the non-republican white vote that would be helpful to be boosted a little bit as well, and if they can do that, i think he has a shot. they've done a very good job of organizing african-american communities across the state, and he did appeal to non-republican white voters on november 6th, so i think, you know hooer know, he's got an outside shot. this is a very hard race. this is a state that a democrat hasn't won in several decades. he's really -- i think he's run the right type of campaign. it looks a lot like what doug jones ran in alabama. >> hugh president trump holding not one but two rallies in mississipp
