so hugh hewitt is saying quid pro quos are no problem here. aaron, it's evolving. >> i think the hewitt tweet is a good example of where these defenses are trending in the direction of the ridiculous. i mean, the idea that governments engage in quid pro quos with one another, of course they do. anytime there's an exchange or an agreement, that's technically a quid pro quo. that has never been the question here. it's always been understood that military aid was withheld for a reason, that maybe a meeting was withheld for a reason. the question is whether that reason is corruption, whether this was a personal favor for the president that was being tied to these various investigations. the other thing that i think is important here is that as we saw in those clips a big reason why republicans are focusing on the process here is because many of the things they have said in defense of the president like no quid pro quo, eventually we get evidence that makes those defenses look ratherre looking might come out after bill taylor, after tim morris that
