hugh williams is there and joins us by phone. so hugh, is the bomb squad still inside the house? >> reporter: currently the situation is quite a lot of the fire department and detectives that were here at the scene have now left. the police came out and told us that the woman has been released from this incredibly delicate and dangerous situation inside her house, in this very rich neighborhood of sidney, a very a affluent neighborhood. the woman was released after essentially 10 hours and is now back to her family. she had been sitting in a very uncomfortable situation all afternoon and because of that she had been taken to a hospital for a check up by the doctors. it's still unclear whether this device which the police refused to call an actual bomb was in fact attached to her or she was sitting on it. they only were able to say that it was in her vicinity. but needless to say, it was an extremely difficult and dangerous situation, all precautions were taken, it was extremely distressful for the girl, she was with negotiators all of the day while detectives worked on the crime

we have john hughes here, a medical marijuana advocate. what is the point of tonight's meeting? >> to take the next steps to get organized for our coalition, the city council has still yet to create a reasonable ordinance. this is sending a message. we know there are a few seats up in 2012. so we're going to start a registration drive with the cannabis. >> to try to get people more sympathetic to your cause. the city of san jose now has agreed to limit the number of medical marijuana collectives to 10, that could be up to 25. which means that the roughly 130 there are, significant number would shut down. why is that not reasonable? what's wrong with that? >> we feel that the market should decide how many collectives. the proposition 215 which is the california compassionate use act, dictate there is should be safe access for medical marijuana patients. what the city is doing by limiting these is limiting access. >> you see the city's concern, though, that they could see that people would abuse the law, they come in with a doctor's note that you know, maybe the doctor kind of gav
