a man who died during an arrest in the east bay has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. 32-year-old humberto martinez was being pulled over by police in pittsburg one year ago. he then lead police on a short chase. martinez eventually got out of the car and into an altercation with officers. they struggled to arrest him, and used their taser when he bit an officer. in the lawsuit filed against the police department, martinez's family says officers choked and punched him. they say martinez eventually became unresponsive from his injuries and died. the police department responded to the lawsuit and say their officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.
