these humidity numbers are high. and the high humidity levels around 50 or 60%. there is not a tremendous amount of storm action out there west of baltimore. but the storms we do have are pretty potent and again moving in south of the city right now. i will say that the overall pattern is actually being sparked by this boundary and trying to sneak in. we have drawn it here as a cold front. really no cool air coming in behind this thing. tomorrow, back in the 90s and may see the humidity drop a little bit tomorrow. it will still be humid but a little less steamy. you can see what's going out today. a huge plume of humidity and the dew point numbers are off the chart. highs today, big heat surge out of south. and that will continue tomorrow. i don't think we have any cool relief here in sight anywhere in the seven-day forecast. storm wise, it could continue this evening at least on the scattered basis on the lower eastern shore through 11:00 or 12:00 tonight. and then i think tomorrow is relatively clear and dry for fireworks. maybe an isolated shower but clear on

this is where it's very humid, it's actually more humid in minnesota, iowa and wisconsin than it is on the gulf this morning. the high pressure center is right over st. louis today. these areas of green, the dew point measures how much moisture is in the air. if it's over 60, you can feel it. if it's over 70, that's where it's oppressive. and we're in the 70s throughout almost everywhere east of the mississippi and also back up here into the northern plains. notice the highest numbers are at minneapolis and new orleans and also there in florida. so in other words, in the northern plain, you have the humidity this morning of what they do down in florida. your bodies just aren't used to it. and right now the heat index even without the sun, it feels like 91 in minneapolis. you're by far the hottest heat index of all the major cities right now in the country. we have excessive heat warnings, i think we have 31 states now over 100 million people are under some sort of watch, warning or advisory. so today's forecasts as advertised, just about everybody in red is going to be in the 90s. this
