welcome back to the "halftime report" today live in huntington beach.santoli back at the stock exchange for our midday word oh, no i mean, what is it >> i mean, you know, lucy pulled the football away again, i guess. it's interesting that in a stroke, the stock market sort of wipes away three days worth of gains. just think about that. we're back to wednesday's close thereabouts in the s&p 500, given the fact that the bond markets had to reprice pretty dramatically i don't mean that's a modest move down 3% in one day, but it tells you how volatile the expectations have been moving around this was a bad miss on cpi, but it seems worse based on how the market was leaning going into it so i think it basically defers relief for another month, at least, in terms of the peak inflation story and here we are, figuring out how much pain it's going to have to take, perhaps on financial conditions and the real economy to get inflation on the path that it needs to be i think it reinforces this frustrating range we've been in. >> everybody's weighing in on it, too.
