and this map by thomas hutchins, from 1778, a new map of the western part of several states was reallyshington's -- his bible for westward expansion in this post-revolutionary war. it shows tremendous to be about to read his letters and papers and see them talking about specific cartographers. well, lewis evans did a great map in the 1750s, but now it's been superseded by this one. you could see him studying the map in great detail, even picking out this kind of crossroads or cross rivers, the strategic point which connects the links -- the great lakes to the mississippi via the wabash and saying this is where we have to strike the indians and capture the miami village in order to really hold this area for ourselves. and if we look at the map from just a couple of years after the fact from 1796, abraham bradley, we can see the three military campaigns that washington launched in the northwest during his presidency and follow, you know, just back up to the city of cincinnati is a mere 14 fourths were built to protect soldiers that they moved up to capture the miami village. and of cours

speaker, this week i was startled to read a brief by corey hutchins that the national labor relations board announced plans to sue south carolina and three other states because voters approved ballot amendments in november. in south carolina more than 85% of voters chose yes on an amendment to give employees the constitutional vote by secret ballot on union representation. this threat is an insult to the voters of the palmetto state and it is an insult to the sacred right of secret ballot. sadly this is an underhanded admission by the administration that union bosses want to deny congress its right to stop card check which has forced unionization of workers. it's an admission workers know that today union leaders are focused on their own personal enrichment than the rights of workers. fortunately south carolina is a rate to work state where workers are protected. new jobs are created. and we respect the votes of all citizens. i commend the efforts of south carolina representative eric bedingfield and senate majority leader for sponsoring the amendment. in conclusion, god bless our tro
