i am stanley, of the kob hill coalition. i hope you received a letter that we offered in the last couple of years. we requested in the letter that there should be a staff report regarding these issues. this is important to the reasons for the request. literally hundreds of people have invested their lives in their neighborhood who are affected by this and there is no meaningful way to find out what this going on. we have not yet seen the position of the department, and we're hopeful but there'll be a submission from the other side of frankel -- frankly, we are not a corporate organization. we are a group of many citizens who need the chance to see all of these materials and to get the position together. we are genuinely concerned that is almost as if to -- the events are putting us at the worst possible time of the year. you remember, when you went to grandmothers for thanksgiving and christmas, we have a lot of grandmothers here and a lot of children who come to visit on holidays. this is a complicating factor. we need time

i am dr. michael hart nenet. i do not practice at st. luke's, but i do practice in the community and took care of a lot of indigent patients that have lower reimbursements. i know how difficult it is to run an office when you are with metical patients -- medi cal patients. the building's owners are planning to raise the rents significantly for the existing physicians and not only that, they are charging retroactive increases as much as five years. there are also adding fees for use of the hallways and after- hours office visits. to me, it's obvious that sutter is trying to drive out the community physicians that are barely making a living when there office -- in their office as it is. they're planning not to -- planning to have the right to refuse these physicians to sign a new leases. in my opinion, as someone who has had experience taking care of these poor patients, they will have no doctor to get to and i'm wondering if sutter is retaliating against physicians practicing at st. luke's and are expressing their concerns to the plan. th

i am comfortable doing that. i think supervisor -- thank supervisor kim for raising that issue, which is worthy of discussion. what supervisor campos said made me nervous. i appreciate wanting to broaden the discussion and look at every aspect of the public financing ordinance -- supervisor, mayor -- that make sense as a global approach. it also makes it a more complicated, long process. we have what is apparently an unconstitutional provision. the longer we let this lender, the more litigation and money risk we have. the more i am hearing, the more convinced i am that we need to take action today, fix what we need to fix, and then move forward with a good process to update our ordinance. supervisor kim: thank you. i just wanted to respond to comments about the process. it is true that we went through the regular public process for vetting any legislation here in san francisco, but you can do what is the normal course of public hearings, or you can do intentional outreach on legislation. that is what i am imaginin
