i am a little skeptical of that part. you are asking the question too about what the dream policy would be. i don't know exactly how to best think about the financing. there are a lot of people who spend the whole -- their whole life thinking about the financing, but i would hope that the policy in terms of nuts and bolts -- because in the end, how well this works will be issues of nuts and bolts -- is one where we take advantage of the fact that we have a robust system of health care in the united states. we have prenatal care centers, and if we are going to get word to parents about what they are entitled to in terms of family leave, clinics are a great place to do that and start planning on how they will be able to utilize that. at the end of family leave, there is going to be many families child care needs and we need to be in gauging the childcare community and resource and referral agencies that are existing programs that are paid to do exactly that, so what i --ld hope is the intention attention isn't only placed on

i am their only child. when people ask what it's like to be an only child, i say, it depends on who your parents are. i was lucky. my mom was a teacher. in the 1960s and '70s she taught history at two largely african-american public high schools in washington, d.c. mckinley tech and h.d. woodson. her example taught me the importance of equality for all americans. my mom was a trailblazer. when i was ten, she went to law school and became a prosecutor. my introduction to law came at our dinner table when she practiced her closing arguments. her trademark line was, "use your common sense. what rings true, what rings false?" that's good advice for a juror, and for a son. one of the few women prosecutors at that time, she overcame barriers and became a trial judge. the president introduced me tonight as judge kavanaugh, but to me, that title will always belong to my mom. my dad went to law school at night while working full-time. he has an unparalleled work ethic and has passed down to me his passion for playing
