i will recognize myself for five minutes to ask questions. to dr. andrews, as a researcher on the front lines of als, what do you need from congress and the fda to continue to innovate on clinical trial design? >> i think it is important to urge the fda to use their regulatory authority in the fda guidance when reviewing clinical trial results. the context of the disease we are viewing for. it is important to note that something like als has a 0% chance of survival if something shows a clinical benefit of retaining functions and slowing disease progression and extending survival, yet is safe and well tolerated. additional framework we typically -- that is to be used by the fda does not work for fatal degenerative disease like als. in doing so, this can spur innovation and interest of other pharmaceutical companies to come into this space. in these situations it drives people away and we lose that interest. i think in that way, the bills we talked about and urging some regulatory flex ability and abiding by the fda guidance that was finalized in 2019 can hel
