i know we have a couple of 3:30 commendations. i acknowledge supervisor kim. supervisor kim: we have had a loss of several community members, the past couple of months. i want to request, and in memoriam for another today. today's board meeting wraps in the celebration of the life of kim quindan of the korean- american community. i attended his funeral services last week. as a testament, there were hundreds of people lined up for his wake, including the general counsel but represents cent -- represents of correa here in san francisco. -- represents south korea here in san francisco. i want to honor a person who has made a lasting impact on the korean-american community in the bay area. the community is proud of its history, roots, and heritage. many came here fleeing the consequences of a very difficult civil war that raged on the peninsula. due to many of the unfortunate economic consequences of that war that lasted for decades. he was an advocate for families and preserving our heritage. mr. kim established the east bay caerleon school and is a past president

. >> i have a couple of questions. i guess i will start backwards. on the vista grande project, is there a projected cost for that? >> i cannot bring it to mind of the top of my head. -- off the top of my head. potentially $180 million. it is a big project. they have significant flooding issues to deal with in daly city. >> would that be a cost-sharing arrangement? >> so far, no one has approached us about sharing costs. i would fully expect an approach for cost sharing, but we have not gotten to that process. daly city just went through the alternatives analysis report and identified this project as the preferred alternative. one of their other alternatives would be building a bigger tunnel out to the ocean to move more water out, which as we all look that it did not make sense. we should make use of that water first in the like. >> if it is $180 million, has there been discussion of how that would get paid for? >> daly city would pay for a portion of it. at the time the analysis started, there was hope for some sort of funding from the state or fed

i have a couple of items. a new coalition has come together of food access groups but also small and middle-size farmers to support a fair farm bill. every five years, congress goes through this process, but what we are worried about is the back room deal process going forward by a so-called super committee of 12. we are working with advocacy groups, our food systems director, and others to challenge this back room process and to fight for a fair farm bill that hopefully will help move forward a san francisco's healthy and sustainable food act of 2009 and other policies past where it shows our strong city commitment to equitable access to affordable and nutritious food and a health-centered food system and a sustainable agriculture system with a vibrant and regional agriculture system as well. other legislation i have been working on has been moving us toward becoming an aging- friendly city that supports seniors as baby boomers become the senior boomers in the next 20 years like myself and a number of my coll
