i just have to say something. i saw some of the comments that came out when introducing this legislation that this was going to halt all development. i have to say if building 0 percent of new housing for 60 percent of our residenting is going to halt development, we are in a lot of trouble. that is a whole lot more trouble than the statement of itself. we have to build. this is not a choice. san franciscans are leaving everyday, families, seniors and folks that make money are leaving san francisco everyday. this legislation makes no attempt to stop development, this is not a prohibition on new development. we nearly say that we need to hold ourselves accountable. this is 1 piece of legislation reform. we don't think that legislation alone will build the housing we need. with that said, saying that we want to build fousing affordable housing is great. we have to hold ourselves accountable to it. this issen insuring accountability and this is our commitment and promise. when we don't meet this, we want to be part of

i have decided to nominate her to rea point her back to the planning commission for a third term. and given how in incredibly time intensive that position is for a volunteer position, i just wanted to thank her for here willingness to serve as what i know for all of our commissioners a significant labor of love. kathrin moore is an architect and urban designer and we have appreciated her expertise and her design that is for our noble character. she has plenty of experience planning and in design and how we as a city submit ourselves together and she has experience in every neighborhood and every corner of this city. i heard from many members of the public who reference her not just her deep knowledge but the fact that she knows so much history about what our city is about. i would like to encourage your support of her as we go through process. my second nominee to this planning commission is someone i wanted to choose who had i am mpeccable credentials. dennis richards has worked not only with the planning department but with neighborhood residents and communities. i think he fits

i have been working on the japan town community on their process for many many years. i went from that state of newby, never been before the planning commission to a pretty good expert on it now for all the hearings wei had. kathrin moore has always been one of the those outstanding people when you come into room, she's critical in the most constructive way. she's open to hearing, to listening and to truly giving feedback that helps people. and this is where government really works for a community and we really were inspired by the planning people we work with by bringing the community to the planning commission. we knew that when we did. they would hear a commission that was interested in what our concerns were. and how we needed to save our community and keep it going. and kathrin moore was always within of those commissioners who had good questions, strong questions and ones that made our work better. she's definitely the kind of person you want on this commission. we are sad that commissioner sugaya and borden will not be reappointed, but we do know that the commiss
