i have traded ibm since 1981, and ibm reported that it raised and not cut, but raised estimates handily and because the stock opened up five points down, and the pundits saw that the stock did not raise what it wanted, and hey, pundits, i have bad news for you. in the last two years, ibm has rallied without any revenue growth. it was the earnings that drove it the right way and now stocks going $2.10 and and it is a big gain and this is big blue and again, give ten scale of the move, it did not matter what ibm said. so when the company did the very thing that it had done for ages, and beating it up for numbers the investors weren't crazy about it in the 200s and now ibm is a classic example of how hard the business can be and why you have to stop kicking yourself. my charitable trust owns ibm, but we had sold some in the last week of marchf and when it ran and i sold it at $2.06, i was apoplectic, and i was thinking, what was i thinking, i was a joke and not a midnight toker, although toking might have been better. and i am reece but not a space cowboy anyway and continuing with the mil

ibm didn't get obliterated. we saw the all time high yesterday. it wasn't a horrible day for ibm. >> in line with what the nasdaq had today. it did account for 25% of the losses. if you read through the note to cut into the neutral, it was a lukewarm and there were fewer sat lifts to the upside and we are not saying we don't like it. the price started at 215 which was pretty bullish. >> all about expectations and even about yesterday about the fed. the market's expectations and ibm is about pretext margin built in and people are saying 1.5 to 2% growth. the bar is high for these guys and far from stretched. it's a crowded trade. that's the other part of this. people have cut their winners and people are looking for places to take profits after what has been a fantastic rally. the risk of terminology is very annoying and simplistic and continues to get chucked around and if you look at the tape, no way you can be calling this off. there is less back up and in other words we did see yields pull in and if this was three months ago you can see the cur

i'd argue that i did the right thing with ibm. my charitable trust sold some now it's in position to buy back the stock at a lower price. in fact, i'm with the buy back yum suit because the quarter was so good. both quarters were so good. it says the stocks were reflecting even better so they had to be knocked down. you don't believe me? okay. let me give you the other side. give you the inverse. consider cy, cypress semi. that's a company we've liked. excellent management team led by t.j. rodgers. they make the chips for the touch screens in almost every non-apple device. yet the stock has been terrible as numbers have come down repeatedly. right out of freddy krueger. and people decided that anything but apple, their customers, well, that's not good enough. turns out, making all of those chips for the non-apple players wasn't good enough when cypress was at $19. but at $14 and change where the stock closed at yesterday, all those non-apple customers, that was plenty. so when cypress reported a better than expected quarter today,
