so i wanted to start by explaining to you label the about the icc because most people associate the ircmanitarian assistance delivery internationally. and not with the u.s. we're best known for our international work. we do have 29 field offices here in the united states. we've been assisting refugees and others to integrate and to adapt to life in the united states since the 1930s when we were founded. so i wanted to start by repeating the statistic that professor mentioned at the start. the u.s. has resettled over three million refugees to the united states through this program since this work started. even before the 1980 refugee act. 800,000 of those individuals have been resettled here since 9/11. and for the first several decades of this program, there were a few constants that we could really rely on. the first thing that we could reasonably rely on with this program is that it was obscure and unknown and no one really cared about it. this is a program built on a strong private partnership. on a strong foundation of community support, much of that support has come from a diversit
