bridge point ice rink is slated to close on june 1st.the skating community has been fight for about a year to keep it open. the current property owner out of san francisco is not renewing the lease for the ice skating rink that has been a part of the community for over 20 years. developers have other plans for the space that has rattled this tight knit community. >> we'd like to rink to stay there. if that's not possible, we'd like an ex tension for the current operator so that the community can work with inves r investors and with operators and with the city council to find and alternative site for a rink. it's an important community amenity. >> reporter: olympian christy yam gu chi worked out at that ice rink. she released a statement today saying so it should be a shame to close it down. later this afternoon i got a call from j.t. snow. he said that he his son worked out at that ice rink for four years. he is throwing his support behind keeping the ice rink open. we'll have much more on this story coming up at 6::00. >> los gatos are
