i don't know where i would have been today if i didn't have the professors i did and the classes i did, and if i wasn't able to do the job that i do. i could have been her in that classroom. prevention education is really important. support around that. i was able to refer this woman to resources, which i could, but i didn't have a contact i could just give her, we know that is so important for people seeking services and at that point in their healing, so thank you. >> thank you so much. thank you.

i was going to introduce myself. i will -- and i thank bob for giving me my bio. i did start out as a nurse. i've spent my life in advocacy. in 1969 when i graduated from high school, i walked into the office, gave me a few choices. one of those choices was to be a teacher, a nurse, homemaker or you could become a nun and have a vocation which is what they always pushed first and last. i chose nursing. i've loved nursing. my youngest daughter is a nurse. it's a true profession of advocacy. that's where i've got my roots and my bones and started there being an advocate for the patient. in 1991 i decided i wanted to go back to school. by then i had the six kids and i was as non-traditional a student as one could be. my oldest son was 15, my youngest one was four. and she'd come with me when she wasn't in daycare. i went to law school. i am forever grateful to syracuse university for that opportunity. many would not have been willing to take that risk. after law school i worked for the attorney general. we represented any state run hospitals. this was a suny hospital
