let's talk about igor and where it's going to be heading. this is a category 2 hurricane right now, maximum sustained winds 105 miles per hour. you have to get up to 111 in order to be a category 3. we were there earlier today. a little bit of weakening. it will likely fluctuate in intensity. you can see it's right in the center of that cone of uncertainty and landfall would begin tomorrow into monday morning. you can see the forecast path. we're expecting that northerly turn. we have cloudiness and we saw the waves in the live shot there, but we are expecting conditions to go downhill. now, what about the u.s.? are we going to see any impact here? you bet we are, the same we did with earl and danielle. we've got a high risk of rip currents here on the atlantic coast, particularly bad into the carolinas. another thing that we're keeping our eye on is that disturbance in the gulf of mexico. maybe a little moisture from karl got wrapped up in this, but this is an upper level disturbance. right now it doesn't have a circulation, so it's not a t

here's a look at igor for you.oving its way to the north at about 15 miles an hour and is going to pass just to the west of bermuda, but still affecting it very much so as we saw earlier and we're talking about a lot of dangerous surf here. looks also like we'll see some of that dangerous surf affecting areas along the eastern seaboard for the united states as well as some very dangerous rip currents as we move through the next 24 to 48 hours. julia, on the other hand, tropical storm is weakening. not expected to do too much but die out and the remnants will be absorbed by igor. winds with igor now 80 miles per hour. by monday it's expected to become extra tropical, start to lose its tropical characteristics and both of these heading off to the north atlantic. so this storm still very much so a big problem for bermuda. for us at home we'll see this frontal system push through overnight, partly cloudy skies and then for tomorrow some patchy morning fog. be prepared for that. ridge of high pressure to the west. as fa

the other big weather news is hurricane igor, a category two storm. winds are 100 miles per hour, expected to affect bermuda late tomorrow night into monday morning. it's moving to the northwest at 14 miles per hour and will ultimately turn to the north. bermuda in trouble, for sure, with igor, with hurricane-force winds extending 90 miles out from the center of the still major hurricane. for us, things are quiet and calm over the seven-day forecast. monday and tuesday, in the upper 70s. the high pressure which will set up shop moves off shore wednesday, allowing for return flow and increase in the humidity. so mid to upper 80s wednesday. thursday and friday, mid 80s and another front cools us down next weekend. >> the closest thing maryland has to a real football rival, the kind that even before you finish saying mountaineers has the terps dander up is west virginia. fortunately, the schools renewed the series and offered an interesting game in morgantown. terps, first half, proved unmitigated disaster thanks to a kid that turned maryland down. 7-0,

once a do, hurricane igor passing through.ricane seven years ago that killed four people. that was a category 3, but perhaps it will not do what igor is going to do. this is just reaching bermuda, the center of the storm to pass just to our west. already, most of the island is without electricity. it is going to be a long night, and in the morning, we will hear how much damage igor has caused. >>> the 11:00 update just came out about 25 or 30 minutes ago. it is actually to the west of bermuda, and they are looking for maximum winds of around 75 miles per hour. that makes it a category one hurricane. keep in mind, we have been tracking igor since september 8. it is going to quickly move out towards the north and east over the next couple of days. there is some well -- rough surf for the delmarva area and upper new england. here is a look at side at this hour. an isolated sprinkle or two. this really does not amount to a whole lot. the shower only lasted for about 10 minutes or 20 minutes or so. the wind is starting to settle do

we actually have a hurricane julia now right behind igor. igor is closer to land than julia. we'll talk about this one first. big monster. 150-mile-per-hour hurricane yesterday. these images that we show you here are snapshots, pictures, they put them all together and show you -- it animates. this scene that you're showing here is from the international space station. this is at an angle of course, the international space station is at a lower elevation, height from the earth. you know, spectacular picture, none the less, as it flies overhead. more great views probably to come. so, you know, just a difference perspective from space. this is also an image from space. this is from a geo stationary site from much higher elevation. as far as the storm goes with igor, category 4 storm still. it has weakened, yesterday, 150, now 135. the forecast hasn't changed. the threat to the east coast looks very minimal this time if anything. this storm looks to head towards somewhere near bermuda and then turn harmlessly out to sea. bermuda is really the only question mark. it weakens signif

igor, howling through the streets. while igor may be a category 1 as it hits bermuda. this is a massive storm with heavy winds and the storm wall will pound the island for half a day. this is why igor is a huge hurricane, big enough to cover about half the united states. and tiny bermuda, just 21 square miles of rocky island, was right in its sights. some residents ventured out early to see igor stirring up the surf. >> it's actually spectacular but it's probably going to be horrifying. >> reporter: gusts up to 85 miles an hour as igor gets very close now. we have a couple hours of daylight left. that's important because already most of bermuda without electricity. more than 6 inches of rain and 15-foot waves swamping low-lying areas. >> it will pass. >> reporter: but not before the center the storm rushed right along the west side of the island, nearly a direct hit. it is 10:00 at night, and this is the fury of igor. not a lot of wind or rain. that's because it's passing right over bermuda. that is the strongest part of the hurricane. as the winds whipped throughout t

igor is right near bermuda right now. it is bearing down on that island. ise center of the storm ha coming right up on to appear in the latest -- right up onto it. a category 1 hurricane is into the southwest of the island of bermuda and a tropical storm julia is getting weaker with wind of only 45 miles per hour. there is a pretty decent storm surge to the beaches. it will weaken as it heads out to the chilly waters of the north atlantic. it is not a direct hit, but a close call and some rough weather in bermuda this evening. there is beautiful weather around here. sunshine, breezy, and comfortable tomorrow. some spots will be into the 40's by tuesday morning. hot and humid weather will return on wednesday thursday. >> pete is here and it is bad, all around. >> the ravens had a rough day. they did not play well offensively. they played very badly. we will take and see what kind of a career >> the ravens loss to the bengals today and it cannot stop anybody. what did surprise was the complete regression of the offense that we sought in preseason. playing wo

let's look at hurricane igor.g, very, very large in its scope, tropical storm-force winds well over 300 miles from the center. the danger to the u.s., it's ongoing. and that is rip currents and heavy surf. high surf advisory up and down the u.s. those swells are certainly causing big waves. just be careful if you're heading to the beach or if you live near the beach for sure. there's the forecast track, right now about 130 miles north of bermuda. excelling to the north. and tropical storm watches are posted for parts of newfoundland. we should see the last of igor here in a couple of days. there's more action in the tropics. a wave after the african coastline. this has a high probability of developing into something. remember karl? that went into mexico. the remnants of it, leftover showers into texas. and we've seen over 6 inches in corpus christi and brownsville in the last 24 hours. more rain is expected. love to get some of that rain in colorado and utah. battling that blaze south and west of salt lake city. c
