this morning i spoke to the governor of illinois. we can speak it on an almost daily basis, sometimes several times a day, and asked him about the state of the situation in our home state of illinois. unfortunately, there's still desperate for testing kits. illinois has about 5000 more kits that were provided yesterday by private company at the urging of our governor, but we've never seen a number of test kits that we believe are necessary to measure the current state of this coronavirus in her home state of illinois. the official count, and i might add that word official, is that we have had 288 illinoisans affected, and one fatality. i believe the number of infections in the official report grossly understate the exposure and in my home state f illinois. and once more tests are administered and we received the results come unafraid we are going to see a dramatic increase in that number of reported infections in the state. these cases yesterday, 128 new cases were announced yesterday in our state. it is the largest single one-day in

the same is true in the state of illinois. i talked with him virtually every single day we text many times during the day and i know she's spending money that he thinks is necessary to save lives in illinois. so the point i'm making we want to make sure that the bill that emerges helps the state and local governments with fiscal problems they face because of this economic and health care crisis. i don't think that is unreasonable. i think it is the right thing to do and i hope that we can't include it but that's why the original proposal didn't go far enough and why we've continued to negotiate up to this minute. i might raise an issue of difference between myself and the senator from tennessee who a few moments ago was on the floor. she suggested we shouldn't involve ourselves in issues that really have nothing to do with covid-19, and she used as an example the execution of elections. we went into a debate as to whether or not to go forward with the primary and we decided it wasn't easy at all and decided ohio to postpone th
