she died in northeast d.c. in an alleged drunk driving crash early sunday morning. >> of course i'm angry at the world and angry at why such a beautiful life would be taken away. >> reporter: according to these court documents, nancy, her friend and another woman were at the mango club in bladensburg, maryland. she allegedly drank several alcoholic beverages. he was driving very fast. he crashed into a parked tray lore the car submarined under the bar attached to the rear of the trailer. nancy was in the front seat and received head trauma. according to these court documents he grabbed her out of his car by her arms and began shaking her violently when she did not respond while he was trying to talk to her. she was unconscious. he then dropped her causing her to hit her head on the pavement. police arrested him and charged him with second degree murder. the other passenger was okay. >> nancy was a friend to all of us. >> reporter: she was brought here from africa seven years ago. >> she was brilliant. >> reporte

live in northwest d.c. i'm shomari stone. back to you. >> thank you. >>> fire is still burning up in manhattan after a powerful explosion there. nearly 20 people were injured when some buildings collapsed. chris lawrence is at our live desk with more. >> yeah jim, we have just learned that a third building has collapsed in the east village. while firefighters have confined this blaze to about four buildings, they're preparing for a very long night ahead. take a look. this is new video from the fire department that shows one of the buildings on fire. as the camera pans over you can see a building collapse sending dust and smoke flying. sources tell our sister station in new york that construction workers hit a gas line inside a sushi restaurant on the ground floor. that caused a massive explosion that ignited the fire and quickly spread to other buildings nearby. 19 people were injured, and at least 4 of them had serious burns. the fire was so intense at one point, even firefighters had to evacuate those buildings and pull back
