in this neighborhood about what is going on here. and right now i can tell you we have been given no official information from d.c. police about how these two people died. now they are described as a man and a woman, a couple in their late 20s or early 30s. according to neighbors. now what we can tell you is that police are calling this a death investigation. not a homicide right now. and that the commander of the first police district is calling this an isolated incident. now there was an initial crime alert that went out this evening that referred to this as a shooting, we are told. that was in error that is not correct. now we do know police were called here around 3:30 this afternoon to check on the welfare of the couple. neighbors tell us they were in the process of renovating this town house and when we arrived, every window on the second floor was open. it is not clear whether police opened them. investigators also examined photographs and then towed away a vehicle that was parked nearby. my sources tell me there was no sign of forced entry into the house. so right now it appears that police are saying this
