that does not include the dead from india and tibet. overall have been injured in the quake. the situation on the ground is desperate. searchers are digging through rubble looking for any survivors they can find. they are desperate for food, water, medicine. several countries have already started shipping supplies into that part of the world. many historic buildings lie in complete ruin. this is the historic square? kathmandu. look at it before the quake then you see it right after. the square is a cluster of ancient temples and palaces, some hundreds of years old. here is another iconic landmark in kathmandu. the tower, you can see it before and avenue. the nine-story tower reduced to rubble. it was described as a world heritage site. residents in nepal felt strong aftershocks including a magnitude 6.7 aftershock only a few hours ago. meteorologist derek van dam has been tracking the aftershocks. i imagine these could play out for the next couple weeks or months? >> yeah, that's true. aftershocks can occur, in a weaker form from the or

saturday's massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed at least 2,500 people including people in nearby tibet and india americans. this morning, a 6.7 aftershock caused new panic. many parts of kathmandu are levels. businesses homes and sacred temples are nothing but rubble now. officials are begging for international aid as temperatures are expected to drop overnight and many don't have electricity or running freshwater. >> at least three americans were among the 17 killed in the avalanche on mt. everest. one canadian woman vanessa aube was just found. >> we'll start with a little bit of good news. so many unacted for. vanessa aube was one of those people. we just reached word from her mother. saying vanessa has been found. the small village she is staying in was affected slightly and she was still not able to contact us until this evening. vanessa had been in town there in that small village -- you're looking at a photo of her -- for about the last month. she hadn't been in contact with them. that wasn't rare but after that earthquake yesterday she would have called them but there was difficulty gett
