in is indianapolis. you can't see it. that's how bad the situation is. conditions are really deteriorating there. it's a white out or at least it's kind of like very wet snow. seeing a mix of rain and snow. >> it's interesting. it's not cut and dry. indianapolis columbus pittsburgh goes from snow to a mix to rain and back to snow. >> that's the annoying stuff. >> you don't know what's going to happen. almost four years ago in 2011 chicago picked up just over 21". third time all greatest snowfall. hundreds of people were trapped and stranded. it's good to see the roads are clear. the winds will pick up. we'll have low visibility. all the warnings across the north and that includes new england where areas hit two to three feet. new york is tricky. we'll get there as well. boston you'll stay in the cold. take a look at this little line of pink. this is the ice. heaviest snowfall all the falls north of that ice line. north of there it's all snow. chicago all snow. i think detroit you're looking at all snow. this is where it gets interesting for indianapolis.

rainfall south of indianapolis, it's all rain in louisville cincinnati, columbus, a little snow you'll be changing over to rainfall. that alleviates all of our problems. pittsburgh snowfall getting ready to change to rain once this is all said and done there's a back area of snow that could drop an additional one to two. new york city you get snow overnight and it could come down for a little bit. but rush hour it changes to a mix from sleet to freezing rain anda could stay that way throughout the morning rush to around noon before we think it will change to rain. in boston look for snowfall i don't think you're going to get above freezing on the cape, cape cod, nantucket that waswas was ---so to break it down, there's a variety of weather that many will see. the further north you go it's more powdery, because temperatures are about 10 degrees colder. from pittsburgh to indianapolis, the mix goes on until you can get to rain north of that, again in detroit, cleveland, snowfall maybe a good six to ten in parts of toledo and boston. but the headache is new york city. and then behind it f

now these latest numbers coming as the president heads to indianapolis to talk about, you guessed it the economy. christine romans is following the numbers for us this morning. what do they mean? >> it's a strong report carol. the president's going to be able to go there, to indianapolis today and say that the job market is still improving and wages are rising. i want you to look at the trend here carol. you've given that headline number but look what happened to the end of last year. november 423,000 jobs created. we saw revision that's bigger than we initially expected. december 329,000 jobs created. here 257,000 jobs created. you're seeing strength in the labor market. the end of last year carrying into this year. here's something that's really important. you mentioned that unemployment rate and how that unemployment rate had ticked up to 5.7%. here's why you don't need to worry about that. it grew -- the unemployment rate grew because more than 1 million new people came into the labor market probably seeing these signs of encouragement from the jobs market and saying all right, i

president obama on his way to indianapolis as we speak. he is scheduled to speak about the economy. but yet again, these events in the middle east and syria are overtaking the focus here at the white house. now, this comes as susan rice in just moments from now will talk about and unveil president obama's national security moving forward the next few years. a key part of that is going to be the fight against isis. just yesterday the administration signing a memorandum with jordan vowing new aid as the two countries fight in concert together against isis. of course that includes air strikes, jordan just launching a new round of air strikes against isis targets in syria. it also comes as president obama is seeking authorization from congress for this campaign against isis. we're told by administration officials that he will submit that request within the coming days. so again president obama heading to indianapolis to talk about the economy but clearly the focus here behind the scenes at the white house is trying to determine whether or not there's any credibility to this report. rona
