indianapolis, as you can see, this one is passing to the north of indianapolis, but about an hour a.i.g., there was one that was very close to, if not just east-southeast of indianapolis, at one point, there was this report of a large tornado on the ground. these tornado warnings are based on radar signatures, this is second tornado warning down here. that's what's going on over there. two tornado warnings in the vicinity of central indiana. we're just for gaston but for this system which will likely develop some and that's the one that looks like it will make an approach to the southern bahamas, perhaps parts of florida and maybe into the gulf. all of that over the next five days. we'll cover that and our local weather which is still pleasant but is about to change to some degree coming up in a few minutes. >> new 59:30, we're learning more about the type of bus involved in that fatal fall in east boston over the weekend. >> the company that owns the bus just like it and she's life at their headquarters in north attleborough. reporter: i also just spoke to one of the passengers on this

we have five reports of tornados around indianapolis with damage. this is a tornado watch that we have, just extends into the lima area. we are watching this cluster of storms here. i do expect showers and storms to form in our area tonight. it's a yellow alert tonight which means that we are not expecting widespread severe. timing 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and some of the storms could contain heavy rains. here is a future view run here. you can see right through 6:00 we are still pretty dry. but then by the time we get to 8:00 here and then here is 10:00 this evening, mainly west of cleveland between 10:00 and midnight, we will see some showers and storms around. so that is what we're going to be watching here. mainly this evening, look at the temperature right now. 86. and again it's increasingly humid. down to 82 at 7:00. it's going to be a warm and uncomfortable night with the humidity. now tomorrow a much better risk of severe weather here. it's a red alert. i'm going to bring you the details on that my next time out. mark? >> jeff, thank you. thi

so indiana got slammed there. 40miles north of indianapolis. speaking of -- we'll watch this system go through right there. right there. so that's what it did. and the line of thunderstorms continues. it's marching northward now. towards fort wayne, probably went through elkhart on its way to ohio and now chicago. looks like it's past there and now into detroit. very severe weather here. everybody is getting some kind of weather. we get the fog. breezy into the weekend. and looks like a cooler pattern inland. how much cooler. stuck in the 60s for the longest time here. fog is there up and down the coast. kind of peels off about point conception. 20, gusts to 30 miles per hour. 50s on the temps and cool for some. feels like a hint of fall to me. a couple of people said the same thing. there are hints around early september of a system dropping in. until then, we're waiting for a system to move in from the north. that will usher in a bigger fog bank. quiet in the sierra now. the fog goes very active and might produce some drizzle. more so tonight

not so much for folks watching tv right now in the indianapolis area. outbreak of tornadoes. a lot of damage reported. we have shown you the scenes there. tremendous amount of the severe storm active any in progress now. we will zoom in and show you the area in red. number of them. one, two, three, four, five, six tornado wr now moving through the area north of indianapolis and southeast. so we will keep an eye on that. the storms will diminish but they will keep the rain showers and it's possible that part of the area could see a shower from the remnants of this. nothing serious in our area. we'll keep an eye on this stuff tonight. tomorrow we wind up with partly cloudy skies. hot and humid around 90. a passing shower is possible. few degrees above average. we will get into friday and it will be warmer and more humid. in fact the future heat index shows the way it will feel tomorrow could approach 95. 98 in frederick. 95 in manassas. as we get through the day on friday the numbers and values go up as the temperatures head to the mid-90's. it will feel from 99 to 102 degrees

before we show you video, there is currently a tornado warning east of indianapolis, indianapolis is over here but there is also action to the north. a couple of tornado warnings. it's still an active situation there and it's active in the tropics. tornado that came through parts of indiana. look at the damage. at one point there was reports, this was about two hours ago, of large tornado that was on the ground for a while. so it continues to be a very fluid and active situation. as for the tropics, storm -- that's stronger right now is gas tron. the other one, even though it's not a tropical storm yet, it's a tropical disturbance bluk at the ac somewhere very close to parts of the bahamas and southern florida over the next three to five days. it won't get into this position until three, four, five days from now, and it may affect the eastern gulf, u.s. southeastern, it doesn't look like we have it set to come up the east coast. anything can change so far down the road. gaston likely to eventually become a hurricane and be somewhere, a few hundred miles east of bermuda five days from
