. >> [ indisernible ] >> reporter: a chaotic scene inside this maximum-security prison friday night.oing down. >> reporter: captured on a cell phone by an inmate. >> i ain't playing. >> reporter: inmates roaming free from their cells with no correctional officers inside. the alabama department of corrections say a prisoner assaulted and stabbed an officer and the prison warden around 9:00. the officer was stabbed when he tried to detain an inmate involved in a fight. when the worden was helping with the situation he was also stabbed. after the assault inmates went into a hallway outside the housing unit and started a fire. this woman says her son was trapped in the chaos. he called her from inside the prison while it was happening to tell her he loved her.>> he sounded like this was his last day. i want to come and see them but i don't know what's going to happen. he said mom i love you. just pray for us. it's bad right now. >> the department of corrections says 100 prisoners were involved and the right lasted four hours. a search of the prison for illegal cell phones and other contr
