how can the individual member seek to be removed from the gang injunction? three ways. one, seek an opt out from the san francisco city attorney's office. that is a method not a court filing. it is reaching out to our office to explain why the individual member believes they should not be enjoined. second, they are free to file a motion with the san francisco superior court and the san francisco city attorney on their own initiate removals. we have done that in 2009 and 2011 and 2013 and 2018. the opt out process is de signed to be an accessible means for individuals to give us information that would help us either support or bring an application, motion to the court to remove them from the gang injunction. we consider all information given on the opt out petition and form or not, formal or informal from themselves, from community members speaking on their behalf, from family members, from the public defender'defender's office. we are more than happy to consider the information. the opt out pack ate, which -- pack at, the form plus instructions have been served on all members subject to the injunction. we settled on t

focus groups were also held with other individuals, such as city officials and faith based community leaders. we also concluded a community survey that gathered over 1400 responses in total. the survey has sections specifically for informal caregivers and also service provider as well as consumers. the third key part of this assessment was the equity analysis. in here, we examined how populations face systemic barriers or how people are not accessing our services as well as how participation and funding varies across city districts. the equity factors included communities of color, low-income, limited english flew entercy, isolation, and lgbtq identification. so i wanted to start with our strengths, our findings. one, what we found out is overall we're serving one in four of the city's older adults. furthermore we're serving one half of the city's older adults, which i thought was really great. the equity analysis found the city is generally serving older populations at a higher overall rate than younger levels. almost one in three of the city's seniors of color are engaged in commun

city. the new fundingillllow us to directly serve 250 new individuals but we also know that we can serve more once we get those engagements and those relationships because in all of our clinics, we can access the rvice and medication. so this program is a big step forward to saving lives, lost to heroine, fentanyl and methamphetamine addictions and overdoses. homeless people who use drugs are especiallynerale and our health system is adapting going directly to them with compassionate outreach a ise. we're able to help a group that gets missed in the traditional structure of visits and appointments. our low barrier medication program is just one piece of a city-wide effort tncreas treatm we are also providing emergency rooms at sucker burg general hospital and implementing a new addiction consultant service within our hospital to ensure all physicians at the hospital have access to treatment experts for their patients. the doctors from this service are also here today. so again, i want to thank mayor farrell for supporting all of our efforts to address those with substance abuse disorders and
