complaints. 4, property owners to disclose bedbug infestation history for the previous two years. 5, the department of public health to collect and publish bedbug data on a quarterly basis. 6, establishing enforcement procedures and 7, making environmental findings. >> thank you. colleagues, one of the first thing issues did when i joined the board of supervisors was to call a hearing on bedbugs in the city and county of san francisco. prior to that hearing actually a group of many of our residents from neighborhoods, chinatown and south of market and the tenderloin had been convening meetings fore over a year to discuss what we could do about the citywide epidemic that has been plaguing our neighborhoods. through the work group this legislation came forwards a series of recommendations on what we could do to better abate bedbugs and the bedbug abatement issue here in san francisco. this legislation will address three primary issues. the first of course is to actually collect data on bedbug abatement. so to require pest control operators to report to the department of public health o

that it was infested. the two prior tenants basically left because of that situation. as for myself i had sleepness night because of this. i'm on administrative leave without pay right now from my job, due to the fact that i had bed bugs and i got treatment basically i'm waiting for the final inspection from the health inspector. so that is not until november 1st. so all together this is going to basically be about close to two months for me. basically being without work. and that hinders me personally. when i first got the bed bugs in my room, basically i called management. management came in -- management also is best pest control and what they did was basically came and sprayed the surrounding bed area and left. i had to call them back at 10:00 to basically come and re-spray. unfortunately i had to throw away more than half of the thingings of my belongings. so fortunately for the sro collaborative they helped me wash the remaining clothes that i do have. thank you very much. one other thing, proper dis

we also received reports of environmental health issues such as bedbug infestations and these reports were made by individuals who lived in public as well as private housing. about 40 percent of our contacts wanted to get information about service and support animals. clients wanted information about their rights to have one and wanted to learn how they could register their animal as a service or support animal. we also received calls from business owners, landlords, as well as the general public to get information about their rights when it came to service and support animals who were behaving inappropriately in public places. the remainder of the inquiries involved questions about education and employment accommodations. people also called our office to dispute their disability placard citation and they were referred out appropriately. as far as ada complaints go, we received more ada complaints this past month than we usually do. it totaled in the amount of 18 complaints. we received no requests for accommodations and only one curb ramp request, however. the majority of the complai
