in ingleside, it is no different. people are being victims of robbery, assault, based that they are walking around with ipods on, cell phones, been distracted. we came up with an informational fliers. everyone has small cards in front of you. they are done in english, cantonese, and spanish. and basically, we put them up in businesses. we take them wherever we can and try to get the word out, not just to tell people to be alert in their surroundings. this is one of the best examples of the police and the community working together. ingleside is home to critical infrastructure. that includes the city college, the police academy, the water storage facility. officers may pass on calls to those areas each day. traffic enforcement is one focus we have out here because we have seen a direct correlation between traffic enforcement and a decrease in traffic provisions. this is a snapshot of one such month. if you notice from 2009 to 2011, traffic collisions have gone down. next. the enforcement operations i have mandated for

i am captain mahoney of the ingleside station. i want to welcome you to my station. we're very glad to have you here tonight. what i am going to do is give you an overview of the district, talk about what is comprising the district, its policing challenges, and some of the enforcement strategies i have set up for. ingleside station is comprised of six radio car sectors. we are almost six and a half square miles. the population is over 14,000 residents. your home to a large business community, large residential community. it parks and public housing. -- we have parks and public housing. the district has many, many different groups, starting with the east side of the district here. we have a little bit up tortola, sunnyvale, visitation valley, our mission, lower mission, diamond heights, west

people going into the town or coming into work in the morning, and what you see is a lot of people to ingleside going in and in the reverse direction, not a lot of people getting off. although there are some people in the business district. what we wanted to point out here was to say the potential to grow the existing rights -- ridership, and it is a combination of commuters and people going to work, as most of the other lines have as well, as some on and off traffic and the central business district. the other thing that i think is not reflected accurately in this is the fact that the number of riders the detectives special events over the ballpark. in the corridor itself, the ridership since 2006 in what is covered by the bus lines has increased from 2006 to 2010 by some 12% at the same time that the sister ridership increased at 4 % -- increased at 4% over that time. with a combination of things, we can continue to grow the ridership on this very important line. supervisor cohen: i have a question before we move on. can you explain one more time the designation between these circles, these q

i spent some citi lakeside and ingleside. i spent my entire professional life working in community, working on behalf of low-income families, working on behalf of those marginalized and often those outside our legislative and political process. my interest in bridge is a fitting in this process is two- fold. one, it is a critical process that will determine how folks have a voice and will determine how folks can experience the distribution allocation of resources, and it is critical to communities across our city. what is important to me is that this process resulted in a fair and equitable and transparent process where, again, everyone has a voice, and then there is opportunity for the distribution of resources. the opportunity, i believe, is to continue to address what continues to be challenges in our city with regard to access to resources. when i grew up in the western addition, i experienced firsthand the challenges of limited resources, limited access to resources, and so then experiencing the what in not understanding
