police tell ktvu news that they stopped more than 300 drivers last night at a checkpoint in the ingleside. santa clara authorities arrested 21 people friday night and last night. chp officers arrested 136 people in the area during that same period. two of those dui arrests were made in hayward. one driver crashed into a utility pole and fire hydrant. another hit a police car on the scene. christien kafton tells us the first driver may also face child endangerment charges. >> california highway patrol says it all startedded at 12:45 this morning when a ford pickup truck veered off the road and left destruction in its path. >> for unknown reasons the pickup continued and collided into a telephone pole followed by a fire hydrant. >> reporter: no one was seriously injured in the crash. after a short investigation officered arrested the driver for driving under the influence. compounding the danger the woman and two children who had been in the truck. officers say the driver faces additional child endangerment charges. while the officers investigated that incident they say another drive cruisi
