at ingleside we try to do that as well. what i try to do is look as much as possible the data-driven enforcement. we look at our data, look at the crime mapping, the trends, look at our patterns and see and try to anticipate as much as possible so that we could move forward in a positive direction to delegate and deploy our resources as much as possible to make an effective response to an issue. in addition, to utilize crime prevention substantials like i mention -- strategies like i mentioned where we try to maximize deterrents of crime in a certain area. traffic collision, moving forward, i want to increase pedestrian sting operations in collaboration with traffic companies, motorcycle units and also as the officers become trained with speed enforcement, we are going to increase our enforcement on that end as well and continue our outreach to the public, informing them through social media, fliers, traffic stops, informing them of the safety need we have as a city. in closing, i'm a strong believer in developing the partn

i'm a san francisco homeowner, a resident of the ingleside and district 11.ure if this issue has been raised with you, but we received a letter from recology dated january 17 of this year. the subject is adequate service requirements. i called recology in response to this letter which indicates that basically the property was not maintaining the garbage service properly, that the cans were overflowing. and when i contacted one of the customer service people at recology, i was told that they were completely unaware that this letter was going out, that it was sent to all residents of district 11. it's very accuseatory, without any basis in fact. it should never have gone out to district 11, and i'd like to know why this district was chosen essentially as this pilot project. so i think your relationship with recology needs to be reevaluated, and you need to look into this particular issue. >> thank you. >> okay. those are the two public comment requests for item 4. item 5 is a report back from the community and public health committee today. >> the community and

my name is nicholas, and i live in ingleside.t wounded veteran, decorated with a purple heart, operation iraqi freedom 2004. right now, i volunteer with jason. i met jason at sfsu where he led veteran students to access benefits and service. he's personally assisted me in accessing my benefits and care. he's organized and educated veterans at sfsu about the city and federal options for care. thanks to jason, i will be a homeowner in 60 days through the b.m.r. program. jason was promoted to look at sfsu veterans office to officially work in a capacity to help veterans get through the education system. for the past year, jason has volunteered without pay at the veterans justice court first as a peer mentor and then as a peer mentor coordinator. he assists the most destitute among our community to access health care and housing and apply for their benefits and engaging with the veterans administration health care system through the city's department of health and human services. jason will be an invaluable asset because of his conti
