same number for inland east bay, 97. inland north bay, we'll keep temperatures closer to the low 90s today and it will be 70 in the bay. how does the drive look? >>> good morning. let's start with a look at our maps as we take that drive into altamont pass. if you are ready to take 580 west it is busy out of tracy on the 205, 580 connector. we are seeing sluggish conditions around grant line. plan for that as you hit the roadways. right now we are at 31 minutes west bound 580 from 205 towards 680. east shore freeway is clear, no delays. if you are headed along highway 4, 25 minutes west bound from antioch to 80 which is east shore freeway. bay bridge toll plaza, quiet and no delays. >>> masks, vaccines, delta variant, things have been changing by the hour. >> where do we stand and what's next? justin andrews joins us live from san mateo where one city has a new man date. >> reporter: it seems like every day we are hearing new guidelines from federal and local health officials basically telling us to follow new guidelines.

most of our inland east bay, neighbors as well as the south bay has started to clear out now and temperatures because of that have warmed back into the 60's in the spot. so we're gradually getting more mild now hardly even need the jacket. if you're further inland, high pressure is still built up to our knees. this is what brought us such hot temperatures over the weekend. and although it's still going to bring very hot weather to the central valley and then especially the northern tier of the state. the bay area. we've got a window open for cooler air to slip back in now. that means or excessive heat warnings have expired. there's still one up in lake county all across the northern tier, the state and then into the central valley. but as you can see, very little of the bay is lit up in any of that pink indicating that cool down that we're in the midst of and those cool winds from the coast is something you will notice as you get out there. that's going to keep it, especially cool at the coast and keep it a lot more mild elsewhere. today's daytime highs in the 50's and 60's for san francisco

inland. we did see the cooling today. big time around the north bay and santa clara valley. i think it'll be finally our inland or eastleys that benefit from some of the cooling by this time tomorrow. san francisco, you see the fog there. wind going. our temperatures notably cooler. wow. look at the north bay now down into the 60s. these were areas under heat advisories a few hours ago. those dropped a bit earlier than anticipated as the seabreeze continues to pick up but the exceptions to the rule, brentwood, walnut creek out toward concord still seeing the numbers in the 90s. that should change tomorrow. look at san jose now down into morgan hill, 70s to low 80s. as the fog spills back over the coastal hills and the marine air deepens up, this will also set the stage for more drizzle l and low clouds. remember the drizzle storms about a week ago? those will be making a bit of a comeback. also notice how far inland the low clouds go toward the alt mont pass and the strait. once the low clouds hit solano county you know ocean air conditioning is back in full force. morning temperatures also should be cooler. 50s to ne

inland in the east bay was pretty hot overall. the fog is going to continue spreading out, trying to make its way further inland. i think it's going to have the most success, around santa rosa to start today in addition to around the bay and along the coast. but those in disabilities improve rapidly. around the bay it will take towards late morning until midday and along the coast i think we're going to see that fog taking a break during the afternoon. some sun sun peeking through to warm temperatures. temperatures tonight drop down mostly to the middle portion of the 50. that's normal for late july. high temperatures tomorrow are going to be very close to normal for this time of year, mid-60s in san francisco, around 70 in oakland, low 80s in san jose with highs concord reaching up to a few degrees above normal, but just above 90. let's zoom in for a closer look and fill in the rest of the map. right around 60 along the coast, 70s and 80s kind of mixed together down peninsula and the south end of the bay. it gets warmer and warmer

low 80s for most of our inland east bay spots. we will see temperatures struggle to get out of the the upper 60s for much of the immediate bay and then as you work your way farther north you will see the low 80s return for the communities of the valleys of sonoma county. then there are your low 90s for the valleys. all right, 7-day forecast shows you it doesn't change. not changing. light rain at the coast. temperatures in the low to mid 80s. >>> hey, good morning. it is friday. if you are getting out to door early you should be enjoying these conditions on the roadway. it is a nice ride so far as you work your way out of the tracey area. it is a get away friday which means you might see a lot of folks on the road ways later on today. our busier routes will be that eastbound 580 commute towards the tracey triangle. 101 will be busy, especially southbound. you will see some busy conditions on 80 as well eastbound heading towards that sacramento area. plan for that later on. right now no delays westbound 80. highway 4 to the maze 14

you see a drop for inland east bay locations. upper 90s today and back down to around 90 by the weekend. noticeably cooler. how is the drive looking? >>> i have some good news on the roadways. we'll look at bay area bridges. the bay bridge is off to a great start. we are not seeing major issues or problems as you head out of the east bay over into san francisco. a pretty clear easy ride there if you are headed into the city early. golden gate bridge is not bad as far as traffic. things have been light out of marin as you head into san francisco. it's looking foggy there. chp did have a wind advisory. it was overnight. they have not canceled that. keep that in mind as well. your commute looks great, no delays in both directions. san mateo bridge, 13 minutes between 880 and 101, tail lights heading towards foster city. we are starting to see more volume west bound. east bound you are clear heading towards hayward. live look at 880, nimitz freeway. traffic conditions near the colosseum, things are at the limit with no delays. headed
