inland east bay, north bay, coast, cooling it down slightly into the end of our week and the start of next week. let's check with gianna for a look at traffic. how are the roadways this morning? >>> good morning. they're doing pretty good. so far we are not seeing major issues on the freeways. if you are up early getting ready to head out, you should be good to go. a live look at the dublin interchange, the west bound commute which is folks heading towards 680 or out of the altamont pass, it looks okay. we are brake lights near 205 onto 580 but that is the usual stuff. we are down to about 12 miles per hour around grant line but other than that, it looks good. travel time is just about 30 minutes 205 to 680. highway 4 is not bad, 25 minutes. if you are jumping on the freeway from antioch to 80 taking the ride to the east shore, that is a 25 minute commute.ha brake lights or issues. right now we are clocking in nice speeds west bound at 73 miles per hour out of antioch and looking good if connecting to 242 to 680. bay area bridges are quiet. no delays on the golden gate bridge. san mat

east bay, livermore 59 degrees. and you see more haze in the air around walnut creek. this is one location. the inland east bay at times. light offshore breeze bringing in a little smoke from the central valley. i think we'll see unhealthy for sensitive groups at times during the morning hours. moderate air quality around the rest of the bay area as we head into your monday. now again, this is january 23rd. we're talking about wildfire smoke. but it is still moving up from the colorado fire to our south. we're lucky that we're not seeing more intensity of that fire because of strong high pressure that smoke could get trapped around the bay area. right now most of it is higher up. but if you're in santa cruz county or monterey county, you may have to deal with smoke at times heading into monday. for bay area, our top concern will be the patchy fog setting up in some of the north bay valleys, the inland east bay. and for the afternoon, we'll see a few high clouds passing by. no rain chance just yet as we start the week. chilly start tomorrow morning. you'll want a thicker coat as we drop off into the up

we do have some fog in the central valley trying to scoot its way on into our inland east bay valleys and a couple of spots in the north bay, too. high pressure id's sits firmly in place and that's going to keep us dry over the next 10 to 14 days. long-range forecasts are showing no break in the dry trend of weather. so dry janeary ahead of after such a record breaking lee wet behind us tomorrow would have been the best chance of rainfall. couple of those sprinkles showing up on radar offshore. not packing enough of a punch, though, to break through that high pressure ridge and make its way into the bay area. so we stay dry tomorrow. just a few more clouds for your thursday. as for temperatures today will be 50's and 60's right along the coastline. temperatures for our bayshore cities will be among our warmest, although the santa clara valley, really the warmest of all inching close to 70 degrees for san jose and surrounding cities. so that is one to enjoy for sure. might even be able to get away without the jacket. for a few minutes this afternoon down in the south bay, oakland at 63

mid 60s for much of the south bay, low 60s for inland valleys of the east bay. we'll see the same as we get to the heart of the bay only it is in the 50s. seven-day forecast shows us nothing changing. we keep doing this. the numbers for san jose stick out a bit because by sunday we'll be up to mid to upper 60s and micro climates also show the same story whether looking at inland east bay, north bay valleys, or beaches. gianna, how does the drive look out there? >>> not too bad overall. we are looking pretty good along 880. peninsula ride is problem free. if you are heading to sfo, things are moving nicely along 101. the south bay, we have this ongoing problem. if you plan on taking 280 connector to 87 either direction north or south, that's not going to work. it's been shut down for the last 24 hours due to flooding in the road way, a broken water pump that still needs to be fixed. cal trans has a hard closure in place. not seeing delays as of yet. the commute is still early as far as cars on the freeway goes but as it progresses, things will be busier there. we

i think it will be slightly better for the north bay and inland in the east bay tomorrow because, thatwhere we will have the strongest wind around the atmosphere hoping to disburse some ground level pollution. once the wind dies down we are back in the moderate category wednesday, thursday, and friday. we will keep you updated if things start to look worse than that because the next category is the unhealthy for sensitive groups range. we needed rain but we don't have that in the seven day forecast in terms of the significant chance. there are some signs that at the tail end of the seven day forecast may be a chance of showers will be heading our way but it is only a 20% chance at this point. we don't put any rain on the 70 forecast. there are some signs beyond the seven day forecast. a new 60 ten-day outlook from the climate production center takes us deeper into the month of february and shows a weak signal. still, a signal toward above average rainfall and a stronger signal further north. we will hope that we can get into that weather pattern around the corner from january 2 vagary.

as you venture outside half moon bay, morgan hill, fremont as well as the inland east bay in the north bay. well, down into the 30's for fairfield, you're at freezing right now. 32 degrees. so definitely get those jackets ready as you're heading out there. as for our bridges this morning, still fear and really well, we are seeing the bay bridge looking great. you can see traffic is moving along just fine. there. we do have the severe incident, though, a traffic collision on 8, 80 northbound at 20th avenue in oakland that has the left lane blocked and traffic at a standstill. northbound from alameda all the way down to san leandro. so that is going to take you a minute just to get to the bay bridge. once you get there, though, you'll be doing just fine. as for the san mateo bridge, things are all right as well. it does look like a tea is not just backed up from alameda san leandro but also from union city to free month. so a lot of those feeders onto this bridge are doing as well as the span is itself. the richmond center fell bridge. is that an 8 minute drive there? and the golden gate
