also, dense fog advisories for the inland east bay stretching up 6.80, from the tri valley through concordelta. all of solano county and portions of the inland north bay. under these dense fog advisories through midday. visibility has fallen below a quarter mile in some of these spots. now where we're sitting with cloud cover above the haze and above the fog, there is a passing cloud cover across the region. so this will prevent a lot of us and seeing crystal clear skies, a partly from partly to mostly cloudy day today in a spare the air alert in effect because of that poor air quality in the region. now today, we're likely to see some of the worst air quality tomorrow. we have a weak system that will be pushing just north of the region. this will actually result in a few sprinkles and light showers for the north bay. anything south of the car teen is in golden gate should remain dry. but for the north bay, keep an eye on that tomorrow. you might want to bring those light rain jackets. if you're getting outside for your tuesday wednesday, skies clear out more than what we'll see today. and

that's ahead of what be even more freeze warnings for the north bay, the inland east bay in the south bay tonight, leading into tomorrow morning. start your wednesday. so the next several evenings will continue to be really cold. our next several days continuing to be mild. and that includes today with low to mid 50's a lot like we were yesterday pacific at 52 burlingame at 56 degrees. same insane. carlos in foster city. well, the south bay looking at mostly mid 50's san jose fremont union city all at 54 today. oakland also at 54 for your daytime high and overall pretty similar across the north bay as well after such a cold morning, at least a chance to thaw out later today. spore cast remains really studied. you see very minimal changes going on the rest of the week. the weekend into early next week. really nothing coming through to nudge out this high-pressure ridge. that's going to keep us dry. it does take hold, which is actually good. it means not a lot of snow belt going to occur in the sierra nevada. so this is your ideal time to head up there with good road conditions in some

widespread this rain is in that core of moisture sitting right on the peninsula on into the east bay stretching into the inlandmultiple bands of this will continue to push through throughout the early morning commute right here. so this is going to have a big impact over the next several hours. something that take it slow through as you are venturing out there. as i mentioned, things are already saturated. so that water is just going to be ponding in pulling more and more through the morning. conditions out there over the next several hours. you see those yellow and orange bands. these are your heavier spots towards 5 o'clock. still right in the heart of it, toward 6 o'clock catching a little break for the north bay. but it kicks right back into gear after that with spotty showers and even a few rules of thunder possible on into the late morning and early afternoon. rest of the day after that should dry out really consistently with our tuesday afternoon looking alright wednesday, staying dry through the day and then thursday morning before you even get up in the morning, rainfall pushes back in. this is going

so much of the rain, which is for the most part kind of bottled in the south bay in the inland east bay has moved north san francisco to mill valley and oakland, castro valley towards walnut creek and still seeing it in the tri-valley. what has changed since 5:00? are the yellows and oranges around the south bay, that has moved out. moderate rain though around morgan hill, south san jose, that, too, will continue to pov to the north and east. but we are not done with the rain. this is part one of two and there is number two right there off the coast. that is the cold front which will come through later tonight. widespread soaking rain moves out for a short time around midnight. then 1:00 a.m. to about 4:00 a.m. there goes the cold front on by. the wind will be a little breezy as that crosses through before sunrise tomorrow. then the focus for sunday will be the chance of scattered showers during the day around san jose but the more substantial chances for some thunder showers and cold air aloft in the north bay in the afternoon. that is where the focus of most of those showers should be

we are going to make it up into the low to mid 60s across the board except far inland and east bay. it is going to be dense tomorrow morning and that is going to slow down the warm-up. let's look ahead to that next rain chance. the pattern shift is going to be apparent by next monday into tuesday. it is going to bring the potential for some localized flooding and wind damage as well. lingering showers on wednesday. timing on that is still a bit up in the air but it indicates the beginning of an unsettled pattern that is going to last for a while. quite a bit of rain for this first system. anywhere between one inch and 2 1/2 inches of rain which would be great. the american forecast model says we are going to build on that even more. it is forecasting anywhere from two and half to four inches of rain. generally, we suspect an inch and a half. more than five inches of rain possible for the santa cruz mountains. those numbers, just for the first system. it takes us right through the first week of january with a wet start to 2023. maybe next year, we can keep it going unlike this year.
