damian, thank you. >> let's bring in mike inouye. mike, you are tracking a major closure that's already impacting the drive in and out of san francisco. >> that's right! good morning, kris. good morning, scott. you know, it started yesterday afternoon. they had the closure right here of 280 northbound, getting into san francisco from 101, all the way to at&t park. that was a problem yesterday evening, going to be a problem all day. there's the reason why. you're cutting through the roadway, getting rid of a big portion of it, and they're going to replace the hinge work that's inside, to help with a little bit of movement that's necessary, and then we're going to replace that roadway. and that will take all of labor day weekend, at least until sunday, but we're hoping to have things well clear ed by monday. they have it scheduled tuesday morning until 5:00. look at the maps and all the backup it's causing right now. northbound 101, here's the segment with a ghost of a road. i put the black segment there, because you can't travel north

first let's check the drive and say good morning to mike inouye. >> good morning, christina. it is traffic tuesday, heavier volume but heavy through berkeley in through emeryville. here's the reason we have your fast lane or at least the hov lane as well as the right lane blocked. this is just after you've passed the off-ramp for westbound 80. funneling down to the three middle lanes here because of the crash with vehicles on both sides of the incident. on both sides of the roadway. we're looking at your map and slow ore drive develops before you get to university avenue all the way through the area. and look at the slower drive developing, just before university until past the scene. again san pablo, that's okay through berkeley, again the surface street you have to get there and get back, so you may to want stick it out because traffic is flowing. they have to get enough crews there to remove the cars though. the rest of the maize and bay bridge approach, easy drive. the bay bridge toll plaza has no real backup to speak of. crash just reported here at west 580 at 680. i'll

let's swing it over to mike inouye. mike, the last time we talked to the chp, they were monitoring cracks in the roads. >> so far, no official closures. the first thing we'll talk about, sam, is our official closure and it's a major transition in the north bay we're focused anything north of the golden gate bridges. the issue happened with the kweak in the napa county. we're talking about this, highway 37 off of interstate 80 south of american canyon boulevard. highway 29 is what people know this as. it's currently closed because of some pretty significant damage from the earthquake. highway 37 itself is open heading over to sonoma raceway which has a big event today. we're waiting to find out whether or not they are going to continue with that race. they have to check their site as well. over here, highway 29, you'll continue over to wilson avenue and then loop back to highway 37. it's a little farther south in vallejo where the epicenter was closer to downtown. the city council is tweeting, please stay out of the area
