rain, all of that moving color, storm 4 radar is rain that's advancing out of the carolinas into virginia, west virginia, the district and into maryland. we have not had a lot of rain with this. right now, getting just a few sprinkles in the areas in lighter green around washington, montgomery, arlington, fairfax, prince george's counties, in yellow in southern maryland they're getting more moderate showers in southern calvert county, northern saint maries and across the potomac into the northern neck. fredericksburg getting light rain as well as over towards warrenton, culpepper and faster west into the shenandoah valley. and the hometown locations that have had not much rain, gaithersburg, only about .04 of an inch, la plata, .18. and chantilly, just .02. right now it is still only in the 50s, much of the region, 57 now at reagan national. not much of a warm-up on the way for the rest of the afternoon. might have a few showers coming through. it may briefly get into the low 60s just to our south. but most of the region will stay in the 50s the rest of the day. we'll look at changes on the way

as we look back further out to the west there around allegheny county there's a freeze warning across that area at even points into south -- west virginia rather and even virginia. so some very cold hair is going to be trickling in here and that's that 55 degrees i was talking about for tomorrow. the satellite and radar not picking up on a whole lot. we do have clear skies and that's going to translate into lots of sunshine when you're waking up this morning heading out the door. but we will start to see increasing clouds across the area so don't be alarmed by that. but what we won't probably see is some rain falling from those clouds. future trend is going to go into motion and it keeps the rain away from us. it has the clouds in here. i am going to put a slight chance in there but with that dry air out there we really won't see much and what we need is a real soaker and that's not in the forecast. but for today, that temperature coming in right around 60 degrees. if we get more sunshine this temperature will be a little bit higher than that. i'd say 62, 64 degrees. dry and windy once again this afternoon and by tonight that cooler air

all you have to do is move one state away into west virginia. that's where we're starting to see that rain coming through parts of west virginia around the charleston area, around elkins, to the south and west of elkins. this is the bulk of the rain around cincinnati. there are showers and thunderstorms associated with this area of low pressure. if you look up, walk outside and look up right now, you'll see high clouds. that's coming ahead of our warm front. the warm front just off to the west. nice weather right now. watch what happens as the warm front moves in. here comes the area of low pressure coming down from the north. that's going to allow for plenty of rain early in the morning for rush hour. on the back side of this, it will try to bring in cooler air. but first we'll get breaks of sunshine and temperatures will actually go up from where they are today. i expect temperatures tomorrow into the mid to upper 70s. that could actually lead to some showers and thunderstorms once again in the afternoon. maybe two rounds of rain. on friday we
