jonathan: to discuss, we have ian steely, the well core of invesco. it is a number one question following the payrolls report. what is the jobs number on july 5 mean for the fed meeting on july 1? no doubt, the payrolls number was strung across the board but we don't think it means much. definitely reduces the likelihood of 50 bits cut, priced in going into payrolls. in terms of the fed, communication will be key. they will after -- either have to deliver a cut with markets that are doing well, but cap -- powell seem to write that off in the q&a section of the june meeting, or they will have to say they are not cutting but they are credible. also at the beginning of the year they were pointing to inflation, lackluster inflation, and we think this is a regime shift for the fed and they will focus on inflation. the market has been challenging them on that. they started pricing in cuts before trade tensions were even a discussion, pricing them in in march. that is because inflation has been falling year to date. ian steely, recut expectations are coming

discuss -- lisa hornsby from schroders, gershon distenfeld from alliance-bernstein, and noelle from invesco, over in atlanta. it is a big call from bob michele. a multi-year call, looking for the 10 year treasury yield to head to zero. your thoughts, please? noelle: that makes sense if you think that the recession is kind of looming, but that is not our base case. we are not seeing any signs of a recession. we don't expect the fed to be on a full-blown cutting cycle. we think that we will only see two this year and that will be enough to get growth back on track, which right now we are calling for a modest 2% growth and inflation a little bit higher. i think that is just what the fed needs. jonathan: noel, you touched on something important. it all hinges on where you think we are in the cycle. "as of july 1, we are in the longest economic cycle in modern history, which means you have to pick a camp, either we are headed towards a near-term recession, or we are in a super cycle." gershon, which one? gershon: always hard to say in the short-term. listen to the yield stuff. some of those peop
