>> it is going to come down to the iphone. really how well did the iphone to? do?ing to be able to that just over 38 million number? and then after that, it will be what happens to the ipad? globally,ng tablets flat revenue growth for the whole category this year. so to see how this ipad is trending is an important data point. >> margins are going to be huge. this time last year we had 37%, and they creep up to 39% before the new iphone. a new think we'll get indicative of whether or not a six plus is selling more than the six? what might a lower margin number tell us? >> great question. >> that's my job. [laughter] standpointargin outside of products it will absolutely speak to this makes of the six plus versus the six. a higherbviously margin products that people want to pay up for. that is going to be a big driver of the margins. of some oficher mix the ipad products could help, but probably not nearly as much as the phones will help. i think you will see margins hold. watching today. i just got the update ready to download. will we beginning any more early deta

so in iphone 6, it's very noticeable. so far as we can tell, the more expensive high end model has more plus. the high density models are selling more than the low density models. this will help apple in the third and fourth quarter. we're seeing higher margin. so the same strategy for ipad is not surprising. this means that apple, about 18 months ago, made a very clear decision to be a luxury brand. and the number of, you know, very high profile hires that they've had from luxury brands as in, you know, a gentleman from isl, a lady from burberry, go right in the direction that apple has decided to address a very specific segment of the market, rather than, you know, trying to go through our price points. so, you know, i think we will have very live positive surprise when they report, mainly the disease quarter in terms of margin extension. >> and we'll be getting those numbers next week. thank you for your time. >>> and sticking with tech, google's third quarter profits fell 5%, excludeing motorola and other expenses. ea

i know the focus will be on iphone. i think importantly really the mix of iphones and how big a contributor the iphone 6 plus is i think that can provide upside to margins and saps as you move into the december quarter. >> lots of buzz about apple pay. how much of a hit do you think this will be in terms of immediate adoption? it feels like it has kinks to work out? >> we just got out and tested. the software just became available. we walked into a walgreens and bought a bottle of water. flashed it in front of the card reader. it asked for the touch id. it is a slick solution. that is one transaction. apple will need a lot more of those and a lot more retailers. to us it is a big piece of the ecosyst ecosystem. that is really the key for apple here as opposed to revenue contributi contribution. >> even on the volume of transactions, how long will it be before apple pay actually moves the needle? >> it is probably going to be at least several years. the reality is this is something that is probably not more than 1% or 2%
