two confirmed cases in iredell county. the iredell county health department says it's now working with lowe's to make sure that the 4,000 employees at its corporate office are safe. health officials say they're actively seeking out any person who might have had contact with one of the mumps patients and those who might be showing any symptoms. >> we are in the place we've provided staff, they're available to anyone. we're there working with them closely to make sure that this stays contained. >> now, lowe's sent a letter to employees and even held a question and answer session last week once those mumps cases were confirmed. scott?

clermont, into parts of iredell county, up to stoney point as well into alexander county. you still find very little bits of freezing rain and freezing drizzle up there. once you get north of charlotte, the rain is wrapping up, but temperatures still knee freezing in most neighborhoods and slick travel. a high risk of that all across corridor. once you travel out of lincolnton up into newton here on highway 321. look at this, newton 32, conover only 30. is at or below freezing. rowan county getting better now, china grove is the 34. so we'll see improvements but for most neighborhoods here to the north, it may be until after 7:00 that we will see more of the improvements coming in, maybe 8:00 or 9:00 until widespread improvements come on through. so there's that pocket of cold air still lingering to the north. salisbury still at 32, although you are warming. we're at 37 charlotte. all points south very warm. no travel issues other than the wet roads here into the city. so as our morning rolls on, the clouds will break up, we'll be in the low 40s in charlotte. temperatures

and these conditions up here, we've been driving through areas of mecklenburg and iredell counties. really bad when you head up north. let's look at what they look like up here. roads are very slick. they're wet in some areas. especially up here near mooresville. we had a chance to check up on a couple accidents. including this one. this is up near the troutman area. a single vehicle was actually on its side, lost control trying to turn, and actually struck a power pole. we talked to the state trooper who was on the scene who said they're so swamped with accidents in this area, they're about two hours behind on checking in on some of those reports. if you live in areas of iredell county to the north, if you can stay indoors, that's probably your best option today. this is what it looks like northbound on 77 near mooresville. again, this ice is accumulating very quickly on some of these roads. really just in a matter of minutes. monitor the conditions out here and give you a live look at what it's looking like on the roadways throughout the show. christine rapp, channel 9 eyewitness

in iredell county, a 20-year- old was air lifted to the hospital after a serious crash. troopers say shiloh was turning from robinson road on to highway 150 when a truck hit him. the driver went to the hospital with minor injuries. troopers plan to file charges. it's not clear how he's doing >>> in mecklenburg county tonight, davidson residents can share thoughts about a plan to revitalize their downtown. the town is considering adding shops, restaurants, housing and businesses to the area. and they could also add more parking as part of the catalyst project. neighbors can share their thoughts at a round table that will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 at the davidson college presbyterian church congregation house. >> two high schools have lost their playoff privileges after a fight at a basketball game. the state high school athletic association sent these letters to the principals of north rowan and salisbury high schools. you can see some of the areas are redacted on this letter to protect privacy. the letter says players left the bench to fight at last friday's boy's basket
