irene [applause] hello, irene. irene, thank you so much for being willing to again join us for the first person program. helping to start off the 2019 year with first-person. you have so much to share with us. we only have a limited time so we will start right away if you don't mind. you described for me the time for you and your family in czechoslovakia before world war ii began and before the holocaust as a kind of hard work, but also a good life. one in which there was a sense of safety. before we turn to the war years, tell us about your family and your early life in czechoslovakia. mrs. weiss: so, my family lived there for three generations. had a normal family. six children. very close family. my father had a small business in the neighboring town. he would leave every day to go to work. we would anxiously wait for him to come back, the children. worked taking care of the family, six children. in those days, everything was done in home. nothing was brought packaged or prepared. i know that my mother spent eve
