this is about doing the little things that so many now don't think is a big deal. it is.free advice i want to offer now to everyone. this is something i always tell young people starting out in this business, show up on time and with a smile and you're halfway there. i'm amazed how many kids find this advice amazing, probably because i offered it. a good attitude shouldn't be amazing. getting an assignment done on time shouldn't be amazing. volunteering happily for an assignment shouldn't be amazing. caring shouldn't be amazing. calling back when you promised you would shouldn't be amazing. proving your word is your bond shouldn't be amazing. we remember the restaurants where the service is great even if the food was not. it's why we remember the concierge who didn't regret the reservation error but corrected it and the cable guy who showed up when he said he would. the night attendant that treats you like a customer and not cattle. our expectations for service are so low we're grateful for so little. this represents an enormous career opportunity for workers today. work
