i woke up this morning, i'm in istanbul. i was getting ready to make my flight back to l.a. and i turned just on cnn, which i watched it all over the world and that's how i got the news. i'm just devastated. we go way back to the very beginning. my life with clive davis started right at the beverly hills hotel, right where he is right now. and he told me to put on my producer's cap and told me what can i do for this artist. it was whitney houston singing in a clip at 18 years old. he asked me if i could work with him on some songs. so we got together and we've produced stuff like, taking care of my heart, nobody loves you like i do. just a lot of great songs. and it is tragic. she was a voice that the world enjoyed hearing. and it's just very sad. because i was there from the very beginning. the very beginning. >> jermaine, obviously, many people are drawing parallels with the tragically early death of your brother michael. only a couple years, and people feeling he was the king of pop. she was the queen of pop. both of them dead at really horribly early ages. did they know
