new rules come-- as the obama administration continues cracking down on "for-profit" colleges like itt tech-- and corinthian colleges. the mayor's proposed, 2017 at city hall this morning. the budget provides more money to mpd... and for programs like lead abatement. pete zervakis is live with more on the amendment process. the city's finance and personnel committee is meeting for its "budget amendment day"... members of the committee... as well as other council members... will have the chance to propose changes budget proposal. the budget as written calls for the average homeowner in milwaukee to spend about 26 dollars a year more in taxes. city fees would rise about 10 dollars for the typical homeowner. the budget allocates almost 11 million dollars to the removal of lead paint from homes... and the replacement of lead service lines linking the city's water mains to some daycares and older houses across milwaukee. barrett's budget proposal also up's funding to the milwaukee police department. but it's not enough to hire more officers -- just keep mpd's staffing ve following today's amendm
