iva's annual member survey, over 80% with mental health injuries reported seeking care. they continue the role of family and friends, over 70% suggesting a loved one seek help and as a result getting that help. for those in care, three of four of our members are using the v.a. this year we saw over 75% of those using v.a. mental health services report little to no scheduling challenges, up 10% from last year and comparable with those using non-v.a. clinician. the same number also satisfied with that care. with more health seekers comes more demand and important to ensure v.a. resourced to provide this high-quality care. efforts are under way with the administration to bolster v.a. workforce recruiting medical students and improving curricula but that's not enough. beyond challenge-of- shortage is hiring and retaining talent in the v.a. will the federal hiring process is confusing and lengthy, at times deterring or rejecting qualified candidates. it must be made easier. they need to fully understand staff leaving, best retain and attract talent, updated staffing models an

. >> iva has been preparing to roll out the campaign focused around women veterans last year. the research department with some of our women veterans. the survey that were sent out beyond the membership. and the first question was are the challenges that they face different from the male com patriots or are they the same and if they are the same, what do we do if they are different. one of the women that i spoke with in the focus groups summed it up the best. our challenges are the same. a few things that i pulled out from the survey and from the conversations that i wanted to share, our women veterans self identify. they are proud to be veterans and tired of defending the fact that they are veterans to the nation at large. being challenged when they come out and people they are veterans having a look of disbelief or question, this is a cultural change. we all need to recognize that women are growing in the forces and the veteran community. on the topic of pier support, women showed rem really want other women in the recommends. it's the concern we had across the program that
