kron 4's j-r stone spoke with chief suhr about the restrictions. he joins us now with more on why the chief decided to end his push for tasers. >> pam, two words for you.possible restrictions. these are restrictions that could be put on these tazers. that is the reason why the chief is tabling this. during last year's public meetings there was so much talk about who you could and couldn't shoot that he didn't think it was worth it. i did ask the chief if he was frustrated by what has happened because at one point pam he was so behind getting tasers to some of his officers. he tells me he doesn't frustrate easily but does say there is a moral obligation that the department keep looking for something for something that is portable and less lethel. >> pam: does the chief have any ideas of what that may be? >> almost every other police department in the bay area uses tasers. the san jose police department arms its officers with them. the department issued tasers to every patrol officer in 2004. it believes the benefits far outweigh the risks. there are
