j.d. vance general, tim ryan will be the democratic nominee. he had no problem winning that primarily last night, and take a look at what ryan is up against. an 8-point win for trump, and since trump emerged on the scene ohio has changed and transformed politically, moved very dramatically in the republican direction. tim ryan's backyard, young's town, ohio, this is where tim ryan's base is, and youngstown, you can see that donald trump won this county by two points in 2020. eight years before when barack obama was running for re-election against mitt romney, this same county, barack obama won it -- that's not writing very well. i will try it over here. barack obama won it by 28 points. so it went from democrat to winning it nearby by 30 to donald trump carrying it. we saw a shift like that, sort of appellation ohio, some of the biggest shifts we saw anywhere in the country, they transformed ohio. it's a very uphill fight for him against j.d. vance in the election, and that's not talking about t

it shows that j.d. vance was, in fact, leading the field at 23%, josh mandel, not j.d. ma mandel 18%, mike gibb gallons 13 public school, matt dolan 11%, jane timken 6%. this undecided column, look at that, 25%. that actually leads the field at this point so we're not exactly sure what exactly will happen tomorrow. >> what does history tell us? >> this is, again, something i just want to note in terms of when we see this polling data, look, it's instructive as to who is probably ahead here, but this is primary polling errors in the final poll, the margin between the top two candidates which was five points, it was five points in that fox news poll. the average error since 2000 plus or mines 8 points. that is 5% of the time we may get a polling miss of plus or minus 22 points. there could be a big blowout tomorrow, we are not exactly sure. and when you look and you say, okay, you know, matt dolan back here at 11%, he could still win. that's a possibility given the past polling errors that we've seen with this 95% confidence in a poll. >> even at 8 points anyone could rea

later today j.d. vance in this race will be here for one of his final campaign stops ahead of tomorrow's primary. vance sky rocketed to the front of the polls after winning the endorsement of former president trump. the endorsement surprised so many. it wasn't that long ago that vance was a critic of trump and the maga movement. we asked vance over the weekend and he changed his mind and it's okay for voters to change their mind. the former president was speaking in nebraska and he appeared to mix up vance's name with another candidate, former ohio state treasurer josh mandel. >> we've endorsed dr. oz, we've endorsed j.p., right? j.d. mandel and he's doing great. they're all doing good. >> certainly fascinating. there's seven republicans running to replace senator rob portman. the resumes and backgrounds vary. matt deland is campaigning against trump when it comes to the claims of voter fraud. doland said that he's giving voters a second look right before election day. >> we're getting people leaving other

j.d. vance's best counties here. this is portsmouth, ohio, vance up 50% here.t were sort of the core trump areas in ohio for the very beginning for trump back in 2016 is where j.d. vance ran the best. i think there's evidence there that the trump endorsement you can see a real differencemaker for j.d. vance. the other thing for vance, mat dolan trying to beat vance. dolan was calculating all of that trump vote would be split up among a bunch of different candidates and there would be a path within more moderate republican voters. voters in and around metropolitan areas. for instance, take a look at cuyahoga county, cleveland, dolan family here, owners of the baseball team in cleveland. the calculation here from the dolan campaign there were going to be a lot of votes for dolan to really run up the score. and maybe there was going to be more resistance to the trumpism. but vance didn't fine here, he didn't win cuyahoga county but he didn't get blown out. only an eight-point margin. we see that in the populated centers. columbus, the state capital, the dolan folk

j.d. vance has the trump endorsement but the question is does he have the trump voters. trail, on the ad airwaves attacking vance for using his past comments about donald trump, past criticism of donald trump to really question whether he has the trump bona fides. and so i think that's really what's behind the incendiary comments like this. vance is trying to make sure that he can hold down the trump voter, not just have the trump endorsements. >> so he's testing it? >> well i think he just, i think the question for the vance right now is. maybe these kinds of comments are not going to play well in a general election but if i don't get there that doesn't matter. so he's doing what he can to win those hard-core republican voters, the kinds of voters that supported president trump. who want their candidate to go into full-on warfare with joe biden and if they can get through the primary, then we'll figure the rest out later. >> ben, break down this new polling for me, the latest fox news poll is coming out of ohio republican senate primary. so you got j.d. vance getting the
