(grant) the ntsb is blaming the state....saying the sinage was inadequate. this was on highway 101 in san jose in january of last year. it was dark and raining at the time. the n-t-s-b says the bus was exiting the freeway and because markings were old and worn or missing... the driver thought he was in the exit lane. it turns out we was not and went up a barrier.. rolling the bus... it wound up on its side. the n-t-s-b says the barrier should have been visible... even in the bad weather... but it was not. the n-t-s-b faults the state for not properly marking the roadway. also, investigators say the bus had seatbelts but only two of the 21 passengers were wearing them. the two passengers who died in the crash were

( james ) in national news... a horrific crash involving a church bus near san antonio, texas has left 13 people dead. rebecca strom has the details on what happened. rebecca. (rebecca @ bam) here is what happened james. 14- church members and the driver were on their way home from a church retreat when the accident happened. the bus driver and another person were injured in the crash. no word on their conditions this morning. as of right now, police are trying to figure out why the truck veered into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into the church bus. the people on the bus were members of the first baptist church in new braunfels. the church is still waiting to learn the names of the people who died. ( james ) happening now. officers at the santa clara county jail say an inmate is expected to survive after being jumped and stabbed more than 40-times. the attack happened over the weekend at the main jail while inmates were let out of their cells for recreation in a common area of the prison. in what is said to be a planned attack, two inmates jumped a third one, using hand made weapons made of metal. a deputy inside the room called for back up and used pepper spray but it wasn't enough to break up the fight.
