j.r.: j.r. stone, abc 7 news.the peninsula three people have been arrested accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of legos. san mateo police say the suspects from richmond stole the legos on saturday from the hills down shopping center. an employee followed the suspects and identified the getaway car, which officers tracked traveling through several counties. san francisco police located the vehicle with legos and a handgun inside several hours later. investigators say the trio stole $3500 worth of legos. nearly 400 pounds of fireworks were turned in today during san mateo county's first ever firework buyback program. the sheriff's office held the event in redwood city, offering people up to $75 based on the weight of those fireworks. deputies say they collected illegal and potentially deadly pyrotechnics including military grade smoke grenades, aerial rockets, and mortar style fireworks. >> it was 9:45, and there were already people waiting in line. the sheriff's office wants people to enjoy the fourth of

i'm j.r. stone. in just over 24 hours, two mass shootings with 16 victims hit by bullets in the bay area. one person has died. the latest incident includes seven victims, all shot at a birthday par in antioch. investigators say an 18 year old woman died, died as a result of the shooting. police tell us they responded to calls about gunfire at a home at about 1 a.m. when they arrived, they found multiple injured victims and a large crowd outside the home. witnesses told police uninvited guests crashed the party and opened fire, sending guests running out of the house. some of the injured drove themselves to nearby hospitals. the victims are all 18, 19 and 20. no arrests have been made. and antioch police are still trying to identify suspects in this attack. new details on the shooting in the san francisco in san francisco's mission district that left nine people injured. the chronicle reports that police have identified a person of interest in the case. they say surveillance video shows a mercedes ass

j.r. stone talked to one of the family members now offering a reward.orter: take a look at these military dog tags. once used as identification for private ambrose the reality of of pleasanton, who was killed in world war ii. sadly, the tags were stolen out of this jeep cherokee in the mission district of san francisco last thursday. >> some chargers were taken and i immediately noticed that the dog tags were gone. my heart sank. i could not even put into words what i felt. reporter: katie rigali i would have been ambrose's great-niece. at 26 she never knew ambrose, but has read these articles written over the years. she knew he was a gunner in the army killed in the japanese attack in june of 1942 and is now desperately trying to locate the identification tags, something that hung from her rearview mirror. i like to look at them. it is a good reminder of my family and to work hard and to do the things that he was not able to do. reporter: private rigali i was posthumously given a purple heart for his actions in world war ii. katie says her uncle still
