"now, as i said, he's facing 14 years coming in. there was a long hearing about jack johnson's health. he is now claiming that he has parkinson's disease and that a long sentence, a 14-year sentence would be "a death sentence" according to johnson's

jack johnson is headed behind bars. we have been monitoring the story from the courthouse and we have the latest on the sentencing. >> we've just found out that the judge has sentenced jack johnson to seven years behind bars. this is what the prosecution had recommended. the judge said too jack johnson after he really played for mercy, he said, you were not elected to line your pockets. -- the judge said to jack johnson after he really plead for mercy. he will spend seven years in jail. he will have to pay a $300,000 fine. we do know that he will have to report for prison in january. he will get to spend the rest of the month here in prince george's county but then he will head to federal prison. his defense lawyer had asked a judge to be more lenient, asking that the lesson the charges because they say that he suffers from parkinson's disease or symptoms like parkinson's disease and they argued it would be a death sentence to send him to prison. the judge has rejected that and he agreed with the prosecution. jack johns

jack johnson will lose his freedom tomorrow, but when we spoke with some of his neighbors tonight in mitchellville, it was clear they still have his back. >> i'd be trying to spend as much time with my loved ones if that makes sense. >> reporter: ruby king not only lives across the street from the johnsons, their families have been very close for 23 years. >> we spent a lot of time with jack and leslie and the children. we vacationed with them and they've been there for us when we needed. >> reporter: jack johnson is sentenced tuesday and faces up to 14 years for corruption and obstruction of justice. >> i have 24 days. >> reporter: 24 days before his term as prince george's county executive came to an end. the fbi secretly videotaped johnson at a laurel developer -- and a laurel developer who already pled guilty for his role in the corruption scheme. prosecutors say this is just one example that shows johnson taking a cash bribe. >> oh, okay, okay. thank you. ank you. >> you can see him flip through the cash. in another instance the same day johnson talks about possible prosecution.
